2A Boys Race: Shiloh Mielke approaches the finish
Shiloh Mielke became the second consecutive North Henderson runner to take a state cross-country title. Aaron Keller, now running for N.C.State, won the 1996 1A/2A title.
Mielke pulled away from Randleman's Brandon Lutz (behind) at the 2-mile mark to finish in 16:25.9 on a sloppy course. Lutz finished in 16:35.8. Mielke ran a 9:40.3 3200 during his sophomore track season.
