he Los Angeles Kings chose Jamie seventh overall in the 1994 Entry
Draft. He made his debut with the Kings in 1994-95, posting a 1-3-1 record
and a 3.88 goals-against average in five games. From 1995-97, he played
10 games
and won five. In 1997-98, Jamie recorded career-highs with 17 games,
nine wins, 920 minutes, two shutouts, and a 2.22 goals-against average.
Jamie recorded a new career-high in 1998-99, playing in 28 games for the
Kings. He was 12-12-2 with a 2.40 goals-against average. Prior to beginning
his professional career, Jamie played four seasons in the OHL. During his
rookie season in 1991-92, he posted a 4.43 goals-against average in 34
games with the Owen Sound Platers. In 1992-93, he set career-highs with
41 games and 2,362 minutes, achieving his first winning record (20-17-3).
Jamie recorded his first career-shutout in 1993-94, as well as a career-best
21 wins. As a result, he was named to the OHL First All-Star Team as the
league's Best
Goaltender. After 17 games in 1994-95, Jamie finished the season with
the Windsor Spitfires (four games, 3-1-0, 1.93 goals-against average).
From 1995-97, he played in 92 games with Phoenix of the IHL (38-42-8).
Jamie has represented Canada at numerous international competitions,
beginning in 1991-92 as a member of Team Ontario at the 1991-92 Under-17
World Hockey Challenge. In 1992-93, he won a gold medal with Team Canada
at the Pacific Cup Tournament in Japan. Jamie won the gold medal again
at the 1993 and 1994 World Junior Championships, as well as the 1994 World
Championships.
Jamie enjoys water skiing, tennis, golf, roller hockey, and running
in his spare time. He resides in his hometown of Brampton, Ontario, during
the off-season.
