Boston chose Jozef in the second round (40th overall) of the 1991 NHL
Entry Draft. In 1997-98, the forward led Los Angeles with 79 points and
58 assists. He also tied a career-high with 21 goals. The Bruins traded
Jozef with Sandy Moger and a 1998 fourth-round draft choice to the Kings
for
Dimitri Khristich and Byron Dafoe on August 29, 1997. In 1998-99, he
scored 13 goals and totaled 21 assists in 64 games. Before his NHL career,
Jozef played one season in Czechoslovakia for Nitra and one season for
Cologne of the German League. He scored 37 points in 33 games as a
member of Cologne.
Jozef won a bronze medal as a member of Team Czechoslovakia at both
the 1990 European Junior Championship and the 1991 World Junior Championship.
Jozef played for Team Slovakia at the 1996 World Cup of
Hockey and the 1998 Winter Olympics.
