Helsingborg 1 Parma 3 |
We have Marco di Vaio to thank for this - a hat-trick no less!!! The game wasn't broadcast anywhere (except in Sweden!), but I believe we played well. How is it that we can't perform so well at home?!?! Now, what odds we draw Rangers again?!?

UEFA CUP: Di Vaio gets hat trick in Parma's 3-1 victory
STOCKHOLM (November 4, 1999 7:18 p.m. EST http://www.sportserver.com) - A hat-trick by Marco Di Vaio fired UEFA Cup holders Parma to a 3-1 second-round second-leg victory over Helsingborg on Thursday. The Italian side, without Ariel Ortega, Diego Fuser and Brazilian striker Marcio Amoruso, won 4-1 on aggregate. Parma went ahead in the 11th minute after a surging run and deft back-heel on the edge of the area by Mario Stanic. Second-choice striker Di Vaio scored again in the 42nd and 43rd minutes after running onto long balls and outpacing the Helsingborg defence. Swedish champions Helsingborg, missing international striker Mattias Jonsson through suspension, started brightly but were stunned by Di Vaio's early goal. The Italian team seemed satisfied to display their dazzling passing skills in the second half and were suprised when Arild Stavrum snatched a consolation goal four minutes from time.
