HOW CAN SOMEBODY SPEAK BAD THINGS ABOUT THIS GUY? I DON'T UNDERSTAND...Everybody want to watch a diferent skater with diferent style and costumes and, when he comes everybody spend their time talking how strange he is, how freak skating he does and how much he doesn't deserve to win ! If you do it : close your mouth ! Aleksey is unique ! every skater wants to be like him, wants to skate like him, move like him, but, this is impossible ! Aleksey is very unique ! he is 1994 olympic champion ! his artistic impression is amazing and his jumps are invessibles! he beated Elvis Stojko , Phillipe Candeloro, Kurt Browning, Viktor Petrenko and a bunch others at the 1994 winter olympics ! at the 1997 worlds he was in first place after the short program . but, at the pratice, when he tryed a triple axel, his left leg's muscle pulled from the groin. alexei couldn't compete anymore at that year. he has been a very sad person after that...he couldn't qualify for the 1998 winter olympics , and even so ,he couldn't skate. but, now urmy is back!

Life, oh Life ...

Aleksey's life can be very well described at the Christinne Brennan's "edge of glory " book. and it's not a very gold life...Aleksey lives at a two rooms apartament at St. Petersburg, these graffited buildings with a very strong urine smell and an old elevator. he sleeps in an old brown naugahyde sofa bed . This sofa is also for the family visitor sit when they come... his mother was a cook , now with the tour arround USA, Aleksey was able to ask his mother stop to work. with the money, he bought a second hand grand jeep cherokee from his former girlfriend Natalia Mishkutenok ( former arthur Dmitriev's partner ) and also he bought a fax machine and a panasonic tv. he is making a three bedroom house in the country , and another city apartament. but, that's nothing for somebody that is a very good son, sweet, dedicated and olympic champion! he doesn't deserve to sleep in a sofa bed! he is completely crazy to his mommy ! when somebody asked him if he wants to train in USA , he answered : "no ! i'll stay here with my mom ! " other day, he received some guests in his apartament and one of them pointed to one of the frames that was in the table . the photo was alexei at the olympic podium . "nice picture ! " said the guest... Aleksey nodded his head and didn't even opened his lovely mouth. immediately, he reached another picture of him with his mom arm-in-arm ." this is nice too ! " said Urmy... what a son! he deserves the best in his saddly life! that's why i created with help of a couple friends a fan club for Aleksey . the name is "urmy's army" and we are trying to get in touch with Aleksey for ask him to become the club official ! we are also thinking in a way of to help Urmy. in everything he or his mother needs. we hope to make this possible as soon as we can...

Aleksey or Alexei ???

Aleksey. Why? Because in the Russian alphabet (I sudy Russian in a russian school here in my city) there is no letters correspondent to "x" . But, there is the "K". So, the corret form of to write his name is "Aleksey" and not Alexei.
