Queensland takes on South Australia (Burra) in Paddlesteamers. Competitors ran backwards on the paddlesteamer wheels to propel the craft forwards.
Queensland used their joker...
...but South Australia won.
In a similar event, Wreck the Battleship, a team member (under the ship) propelled the boat forwards, while the 'captain' attempted to prevent the ship's chimney being knocked off by balls which were catapaulted by opposition team members from the side of the pool. Does that make sense?
The the balls in the pool can be seen here, as can the catapault frame at the right of screen.
Appropriately attired for these naval-like events are your hosts, Billy J. Smith and Fiona MacDonald!!!
Vermont, proudly displaying their 'VIC' livery, paddles against the elastic band holding them back in Up the Creek.
Ricky May starts a Big Pool event with his hooter, an obligatory rhyme and BOOGIE!
Everybody happy at the end of the show.
