I thought I was the only one who remember Its a knockout.. It was my favourite show when I was little .. I was 3-7yrs old when it was on!! I used to watch it everytime it was on.. and then when ten played repeats of it at like 5:30 in the morning years ago, I would get up and watch them as well..

HI
Andrew this site is fucken awesome!! one of the best sites ever, a friend told me about it and i looked straight away. I was a huge knockout fan as a kid, and i remember going to 2 recordings of the show. One it rained and we were all drained out, but we
tayed. it was sometime in 1987 and i think i recall cameron daddoo being referee that nite. in 1994 they repeated knockout in the mornings, and without fail i would wake up early just to tape knockout. I did. I saw curt drahiem enter this site. Curt your
legend, you were one of my fav knockout compeitiors, u ruled in pillowfight man!! even though i was from Sydney i was biased by victoria. Melbourne city being my favourite team. I miss this show. are they making a new series? i dont think it would be the
same. CHANNEL 10 MUST BRING IAK BACK!!! take off the trash that is on and put back knockout i say!

Hi, I was in the Eltham Team, we had great fun My Sister Kerrie and her husband Curt made up the rest of the team. Did you know that we were also the Diamond Valley Devils in series 1? We won the 1st grand final and played in the 100th episode. We have he
ps of good memories, photos and other junk from our IAK days.Janne

Hey great theme.. I belong here, I teach the internet through the day, my hobby is surfing the net and my secondry hobby is designing web pages.
Yeah.. I never sleep either. :-)

It was a pretty cool TV show. Unfortunately, shows based on good old honest fun don't seem to be in favor with the networks anymore. Thanks for the website. Good luck.

We well remember the knockout series. We babysat our grandchildren each weekend that our family competed (Griffiths & Draheims). We groaned each time they won, because it mean't they would be flying to Sydney for the following weekend - and they always
on!!! But it was fun for everyone.
Comments:
bring back IAK, i would also like to see 10 do repeats or even better start up a whole new series that'd be heaps cool and i could compete in the show and id kick all you southerners asses, NSW would be goin down again!
Comments:
I found this site very good, I am interested in your favorite and least favorite teams, being somewhat biased as a compeditor. Eltham won the first grand final series and the $10,000 which went to charity, and took part in the two subsequent series during
which a fierce rivalry was established with Sterling form South Oz. We were conmpetitors - but friends and partied hard off the field. We were one of the teams, along with Sterling - that played and celebrated the 100th show with host Ricky May.
more later - cheers - Curt

What about "Almost Anything Goes", the predecessor to IAK? Been trying to track down info and tapes on this show, which I actually preferred to IAK :-) Never-the-less you have a great website!!

I may only have been around 7 years old, but i can still vividly remember waking at 6:00 every saturday morning (this was the time it was on my tv, it may have been different elsewhere) and trying to time the start of the show to the exact second i turned
on the tv. It was kinda like my own event...anyway, the show absolutely rocked, and i have no idea what made them cancel it. Well, thats it.

Hey there.
I am the world's biggest IAK fan. I've got about 10 tapes of it sitting in my lounge room. I know a heap about all the teams and I'm telling you, you've got some info wrong on your site.
It was Woodville, not Mitchim, that got 6 points from 4 whole appearances. And they received all 6 of those points on one night. They got 0 on their other 3 nights.
Plus Mt Gambier from SA also got 25 points, not just Stirling. If you want to email me I can give you heaps of info on teams and stuff

What a time warp, I actually used to be one of the Cheerleaders on the show. I can't believe it is on the internet.
If the show comes back on the TV will it be new ones or re-runs? It will be interesting to watch the re-runs if they show them.
Good luck with getting it back on the air.

Bev

I was only little when it was on, but i remember watching the repeates on late at night a few years after. I loved it!
I asked channel 10 if they could put it back on and i'm waiting for a reply.

I love it! You are such a freak! This committment and time and energy devoted to kitsch tv shows of the past should happen more often. I am going to run off and start a 'Chips' site right now!!!!

hi, great page brought back so many memories. I wish channel 10 would put its a knockout back on!! i dont care about the time. I used to wake up at 5 in the mornigns when they had knockout on in the mornings!! It was a fav show of mine as a kid :)

I love all the new gallery piccies! They're fab! They bring back so many happy memories. I'd forgotten how stupid Musketeers really was and as for Piggy Race, words can't descibe how inane that was. But you know, I liked Jockey Hoopla! Just the look on th
faces of the horses is enough to make me laugh! I remember Super Frog too! He was this weedy, bearded guy from S.A. who was a bit of a legend by all accounts. While I've been in the UK, I've been lucky enough to see loads of the original British IAK from
the 60's, 70's and 80's - thanks to Mike Peters, another legend! - and the majority of our games are often direct replicas! I often used to wonder who could possibly have such a cool job of dreaming up all the games, because they were never credited at th
end of the show. So the whole thing turns out to be a shameless rip-off!! But aren't we glad they did!!
Comments:
Fuckin' great site dudes, however, how the hell can you have an Its a Knockout site without mentioning the infamous "Super Frog"!!!??? Don't you remember that freakish guy from SA who could leap lilly pads so effortlessly? He rocked, he was an entity of I
K! He coined the phrase "You've read the book, seen the movie, now here's super frog the series!"
please find some info or photos of super frog and bring him back to the for front of my mind, please I have no life and finding its a Knockout still alive on the net is my only joy!

Hi! Loved your page, brought back so many memories :) i rememeber actually the whoel family watching its a knockout on a sunday afternoon, Then it changed the next year to a wednesday nite. I was probably about 6 or 7 years old and to date it still remain
my all time Favourite Tv show. I only have about 6 episodes currently..All worn out by watching it over and over but i would love to own more. So Lets all harras Channel 10 til they make us happy by bringing knockout back on our screens :) Wreck The BAtt
eship was a personal favourite of mine, I dunno cause the balls kept going everywhere getting in the way of things..I remember even almost hitting Lisa Curry and Ellen and Chandelle... and Fiona Commenting "i think were caught in the middle of a Battle bi
ly". Fav ref Was Ricky May. I Loved his "Boogie" and the rhymes he'd make Before each event. I wonder if he thought them up at the spot or beforehand :) and yes i rememebr that event in which he was in The Jazz band and the team members had to try and sta
on this thing that tilted them falling in the pool. Thanks andrew for the site! and the pics are great :) I just wonder if you could put sound waves on it? :)

About three days ago (6th march 2000) I was listening to Triple J, some person requested the IAK theme song. Then it hit me, I know that song.
As a young kid I loved the show, I even went to one event back in the year of 1987, I think it was august. I just happened to stumble onto this site. Keep Up the Good Work!!!

Great site Andrew, keep up the good work. I loved IAK and so did someone else!! We once had some friends over from Turkey about 12 years ago. They ended up canceling their taxi back to the hotel as they were all caught up in the drama of an IAK episode
Put it this way, the drama of IAK must have really appealed to these people as they didn't speak a work of english. Channel 10 must bring it back!!!

Loved IAK, the greatest Aussie game show (if you can call it that) ever. Liove the site. Make sure you visit my site, it's another Aussie themed site. We are sure to provide a link to your site.

I have frequently visited this site and have loved when it has been updated. Is the "It's a Flop Up" link ever going to work though! It is an excellent site and it would be nothing better if It's a Knockout returned to television. Maybe it might be imposs
ble for it to run on commercial televsion but there could be a possibility that someone like Foxtel would pick it up if they were ambushed by e-mails. You just have to look at the crappy old shows they have on that network.
Anyway I love your site and it would be great if it was possible to get some pictures onto the site or even mpegs. Please e-mail when you update it.

What a good page. It's A Knockout was one of those great (Australian) tv shows that everyone used to watch. They were showing repeats a few years back on channel 10 on a Sat or Sun morning. One other thing, I think you left out a NSW team from your list -
Avalon.

I used to love watching It's a Knockout. All must be done in an attempt to get it back on our screens. Even if it is on at 3.00 on a Sunday morning I would be happy to tape it. Its a Knockout rules and so does this website. It brings back great memories.<

This is the best internet site I have come across for ages! Brilliant and funny! IAK was the best show and it was absolutely devastating when those wieners near the stadium complained and shut it down ...
Comments:
The best and most original web site I've seen in ages and I agree with so many others it seems that there's hardly any IAK stuff on the web. Shame! But there are people out there who are interested and finally we can connect!! Hurrah! I'm actually a Sydne
sider but currently residing in sunny Prestatyn in North Wales and am lucky enough to catch the new IAK here - of course it can't even come close to our spectacular show of the 80's. I used to adore Fiona McDonald - those giant plastic earrings, the crazy
outfits and that laugh!! It was very hard to choose one favourite game - there's so many, and I'm so impressed that people who've signed this guest book can actually remember the names of them! does anyone remember Down The Tubes? One large piece of plast
c, covered in detergent, pulled backwards and forewards by two blokes at each end with three rubber inner-tubes suspended above. The contestants, always female and wearing skimpy bikinis, would try to carry a pavlova down the course. My flat-mate branded
his "sexist and offensive". I thought it was hilarious! Keep up the great work!

Hello Pharmastud,

IAK was an institution in our household for many years. My favourite memory from the show was from the game in which the competitors were members of a music band on a platform which would gradually tip upwards, eventually sending most splashing in to the
ool (except for the one playing the bongo drum who had it far too easy). I can remember one guy precariously holding on to his seat with one hand while trying to play his 'piano' with the other, while the platform neared vertical. All time favourite game
as Roman Wreckers. Your website is fantastic and very informative, and the IAK theme song is perhaps the best music to come out of the 1980's.
Comments:
As a competitor and team captain in IAK, I found it an excellent opportunity to firstly get fit. I have about 9 to 12 months notice and spent 9 hours weight training each week and ran about 18 kms per week.
I also went onto a strict diet resulting in weight loss from 90 odd kilograms to 76kg.
At one stage I was losing weight so rapidly, I thought I had serious illness and after a couple of visits to the Docotr and a couple of blood tests, everything turn out to be fine. It was just that my metabolism was very high due to my rigourous train r
gime.
A most enjoyable experience.

Cool page! There seems to be so little about IAK on the web (even the sites about the UK version and Jeux Sans Frontieres have only appeared recently). I'm surprised there were so few teams - I'd thought there was a different group pretty well every week
except finals)! I also remember being very confused during the finals, when the teams had to wear different colours because there were some from the same states! :)
I'm trying to think if there's anything I can add... the MAD satire link wasn't working when I went there... In terms of games, the ones I mostly remember are one (Frogs?) where the teams had to cross a pool stepping on 'lily pad' pontoons, possibly with
omeone from another team trying to push them over. Another where they had to cycle across a ramp which went up and down, and try to avoid tipping into the pool, and also one where the contestants had to, while dressed in dog suits, run down a slippery ram
, find a bone in a haystack, and then make it back up the ramp. Your page is bringing back all the memories of the large 'skittle' people playing events, and the contestants trying to speak out the chest flap afterwards... of the pillow fights on the gre
sy pole... contestants throwing rubber tyres over each other or jumping of the ship to ring the bell... etc... :)
I also remember seeing in the paper a couple of years ago, that someone was trying to sue the makers of IAK because they'd injured their neck while dressed in a chicken suit!
(incidentally, I also have the IAK board game somewhere, bought quite a few years back! Most of which seems to involve rolling 'tokens' down ramps and through Clown mouths and so on...)
Hope this helps! :)
Mark.

Hi
Just a quick note from the UK to say how surprised and pleased I was to see that Knockout had been a hit in Australia. I'm a fan of the show here in Britain and in Europe and its great to know that the joy of the greatest show in the world got to your p
rt of the world. I remember Billy J Smith from a one off special of Knockout shown in the UK around a decade ago its was USA vs GB vs AUST from Disneyworld in Florida. Last word this very day the new Channel Five network in Britain has announced that i
bringing Knockout back for a 10 part run and the first national series since 1982. Luckilly I was involved in two series of Jeux Sans Frontieres when the show was on Welsh language tv in the early 1990's so I have'nt had to wait too long for its return
Thanks for a great website
