This is the current version of the March price guide, revised based on the 2003 John Sickels' Prospect Book. The AA and AAA players rated C or unrated by Sickels have been dropped from the list, as they revert to being $5 players. The players not originally on the list who have been rated C+ or higher by Sickels have been added to the list, and priced accordingly.

Starting with 2004, the entire rating system will be based exclusively on the annual Ron Shandler Baseball Forecaster, using Shandler's R$ as our starting point for rookies and free agents, with the following modifications: for players with R$ of 30+, we will multiply the R$ by 2.5; for players with R$ of 20-29, we will multiply the R$ by 2.0. +5 may be added for players listed as in their "peak season," or -5 for players listed as "in decline." +3 for players whose position is SS, CF or C.

For minor leaguer hitters, we'll use the Shandler stat "BPV" divided by 3; for minor league pitchers, BPV divided by 5. +5 may be added for player young for their league; +3 for players at premium positions (ss, cf, c); and -5 for players old for their league or considered marginal prospects.
