Angry Wolves managing director John Richards is to complain to the Football League after an about-turn that seems certain to end Keith Curle's Molineux career. Richards is seething at the behaviour of Curle's agent after both manager Colin Lee and Richards himself were told the skipper had agreed to his new one-year contract. The Wolves duo spoke on Monday of their delight at Curle's acceptance, which they thought would be confirmed by fax while the player is on holiday in Florida. Then his agent told the club he was turning the deal down after all - a development that will lead to him leaving on a free transfer. "Both Colin and I were verbally told by one agent that Keith was agreeing to our terms," Richards said. "This agent was apparently working on behalf of Keith's regular agent, who then returned from holiday and gave us a different story. "The Football League have regulations about agents conducting themselves with integrity, in a professional manner and taking all possible steps not to bring the game into disrepute. "We feel there has been a breach of these regulations and I'm writing to the Football League to say so." Richards, a member of the League board, is refusing to close the door on Curle, although his agent believes there will now be a parting of the ways. The 35-year-old, who was involved in a bitter slanging match with the club last summer before apologising for his outburst, is said to have no other offer on the table. The one-year deal offered by Wolves was a final, twice-improved package which came against the background of interest from Albion and West Ham. They now appear to lead the chase for Curle's services, although there are signs from both that it will be several weeks before they are able to put any offer together. Curle was Wolves' reserve coach for the last two thirds of 1998-99 and was earmarked to further his track-suit education at Molineux alongside the new reserve coach Lee wants to bring in.
