Newsletter #1

Hi everyone!

Thanx for joining my mailing list. If you want to post anything on this list just send me a
message at atpnba@usa.net and put post in the subject. I'd love to hear your opinions and I'm
sure others would like you to share whatever news you hear with them too. So far.. I think
Patrick Rafter is winning as Favorite male player hehe and Martina Hingis is number one for
the women in the polls. I still haven't decided on the questions for poll #2. If you have any
ideas.. let me know.

I was able to see parts the 2 semifinal matches of the Japan Open. Jan-Michael Gambill went
down to Andre Pauvail in straight sets and Byron Black defeated Daniel Vacek also in straight
sets. Gambill is really sweet looking *oops off the topic here ;)* anyway.. Gambil's serving was
really bad. He didn't get a lot of first serves in. Since I wasn't able to see these matches in their entirety I can only give you a couple things I saw. One thing I had never seen but saw twice yesterday was a player who plays double handed forehands and backhands. It was quite
interesting.

Today however, Byron Black lost to Andre Pauvail 6-3 6-4. I was suppose to get coverage of
the match but I think my tv-guide is screwed up and they having the times all wrong mental
note to check up on that*

Next week I should be seeing coverage of the early rounds of Monte Carlo onwards and this is
supposed to be shown on ESPN <USA> and ESPN International.

This morning I woke up to ATP Tour Tennis. his week there were highlights of Rafter's win
at the Gold Flake Open as well as Alberto Bersategui's win at the Estoril Open. It was great to
see the rallies at net between Rafter and Tillstrom and the backcourt rallies between Muster
and Bersategui. Rafter introduced the top ten of the week.... for those of you who like his
aussie drawl sorry ya missed it :)

CNNSI * a really good sports update channel* also reported Marcelo Rios won't be playing till
May 6th becasue of some injury. However Pete Sampras has decided to take up a Wild Card
entry offer to play at Monte Carlo. He only needs to reach the Quarterfinals ie 54 points to
oust Rios from the top spot. * of the 10 top ten players are suppose to be competing there.
