Tennis ace Pat Rafter has teamed up with local Internet media group LibertyOne to launch a Web site.

LibertyOne's subsidiary Digital Rights International (DRI) announced yesterday it had signed a global agreement to represent Rafter on the Internet.

"The deal with Patrick Rafter includes an exclusive 10-year worldwide license to market, protect and manage Patrick Rafter's digital rights, as well as develop his online presence," DRI said.

Under the deal LibertyOne will monitor unofficial Web Sites to ensure they comply with Rafter's image. DRI's site, Patrick Rafter Interactive, may be online by August or September.

LibertyOne, which plans to generate revenue through advertising, sponsorship, e-commerce and subscriptions, will take 70 per cent of any revenue.

The group has already signed up golfer Greg Norman and his site should be operating within months, a spokeswoman said.

LibertyOne shares ended 1 cent higher at $1.06 yesterday.
