WE WANT SCUD - BUT IT'S ON THE SAME TERMS AS THE REST OF US

Mark Philippoussis has been invited by John Newcombe to rejoin the DC team and we're all waiting for an answer.

The team discussed the issue in Townsville during the tie against Uzbekistan and we all agreed we want Mark back. We're a
strong team with him and I reckon we'd just about start favourite to win the Cup if he was there.

But it's all up to Mark.

He's got to want to come back and feel as though he is part of the team and really wanting to be there. It's pointless if he
doesn't have that motivation.

He's been there before and he's done well.

The rest of the guys, me, the Woodies, Stolts, Lleyton and Scotty want him to be part of it all.

But we're not willing to have Mark back unless it's on the same terms as the rest of us.

DC is about putting yourself on the line for your country and there is nothing like representing Australia and winning. It is the
ultimate in terms of what you can achieve in team tennis.

We can all do without what's gone on over the past 12 months, regardless of who's right and who's wrong.

It's distracting to come into each tie with this hanging over us.

I want to try to work things out between me and Mark and also Mark and the team.

I'm not sure how he's feeling about things at the moment, especially after what happened in New York.

All of the boys are right behind Rochey because he's a great coach and a sensational bloke who would do anything for any of
us.

As Stolts said, if Rochey goes, so do we.

Newk's doing his best to patch the situation up and we're obviously hopeful he can.

I arrived in London on Friday to catch up with my girlfriend, Lara for a few days before heading to Basle for my first
tournament since DC.

The ranking cut-off for direct entry is about No 35 in the world, so pretty much everybody will be there.

I'm looking forward to getting going again after hitting with Stolts in London yesterday.

I'll be hooking up with my mate Matty MacMahon from Adelaide for three weeks. He'll be helping from Lyon through to Paris
and then my brother Geoff will come over and help me get ready for the world championships in Hanover.

I hadn't picked up a racquet in the five days.

It was a great tie in Townsville and I was pretty keen just to hang out and relax with my family before I had to get on the road
again.

It was the beach and golf for me because I really needed to kick back and relax.

It's obviously worked - I'm ready to go again and have a real crack at grabbing the world No 1 ranking from Pete Sampras by
the end of the year.
