Knicks sign Jimmy Oliver 10.14.99

NEW YORK -- Jimmy Oliver, who has played with five NBA teams over eight seasons, was signed Thursday to a non-guaranteed contract by the New York Knicks. The 6-foot-5 swingman played two games for Phoenix last season before going to the Spanish League, where he averaged 19.7 points. He started five of six games for the Knicks on their summer league team, averaging 10.8 points. The Knicks now have 18 players on their roster, although three -- Patrick Ewing, Chris Dudley and Larry Johnson -- are sidelined by injuries.
