THE BOOK OF MICK FOLEY!

By Bill Banks

Since a recent knee injury that required him to undergo surgery, Mick Foley has had plenty of time on his hands. WWF.COM has learned that in addition to taking advantage of "hydro-therapy" in order to strengthen his knee, the King of Hardcore is working on a autobiography of his life!

According to World Wrestling Federation officials, a deal was finalized with Regan Books of New York to publish biographies for Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and Mick Foley. Following 40 hours of interviews with the three superstars, writers from Regan Books began work on the pieces. However, Foley was outspoken about his desire to pen his own autobiography, and was granted permission to do so.

As a result, the superstar has already completed an estimated 200 pages of his book, which according to Regan Books Editor Jeremie Ruby-Strauss, is due to hit bookstores everywhere on October 20, along with The Rock’s biography. Stone Cold’s is set to be released by March of 2000.

One amazing aspect of Mick’s desire to tell his story is the fact that he has been without the help of a computer or typewriter. As a result, the superstar has spent countless hours writing the book by hand! To assist in the process, Federation officials have been more than happy to type the pages for him.

"I remember how my mother used to tell me back when I was a child that I should write a book," Mick Foley said. He went on to claim "My Dad always encouraged me to keep a journal, so that one day I could write my memoirs. Well, I didn’t keep a journal, but my memories are still unbelievably detailed for a guy whose head has been the recipient of some of the most brutal chair shots that the sports-entertainment world has ever seen."

Later, he added "In the book of my mind, I saw my name on a television screen reading ‘Mick Foley—Wrestler/Author.’ I had the ability, now I just wondered if I had the testicular fortitude to write for six hours a day using just a pad of paper, a pen and a thesaurus."
