Well, I'm back and have seen MICK FOLEY!!!
To "TakersShadow", Jozie Jones, "Shybride", and Iris: I gave
Mick your
emails and he was very appreciative and said that he would read
them
later!!
Now, for event itself. Mr. Foley was appearing in New Jersey
for an
autograph session. It started at 5 pm and me and hubby
(Dead-Man)
arrived @ 5:15pm. There were about 200 people ahead of us and
we waited
for about an hour and a half. While in line, I thought of all
these
clever things to say (what a great athelete he is and the years
of
enjoyment he has given me, etc).
When it was our turn, we bought two pictures to have him sign.
I
planned to present the emails I received and again, say
something
clever.
Now, did I mention that this was my first encounter with a WWF
superstar??
Well, we walked over to him and I said, "Very pleased to meet
you, Mr.
Foley." He looked at me a little fun & said "Thank you". Hubby
said
that he (Mick) was the hardest working superstar in the WWF.
Mick
smiled & said "Thanks alot". As he signed the two pictures, I
told him
that I wanted to present him with a little gift. I gave him the
emails
and said (what I believed I said), "I am a member of BridePride
and some
friends sent to emails for me to give to you". He smiled and
started to
look that them, looked that the crowd and said that he would
read them
later.
Then he looked at me, smiled and asked "So, who is Black Bride?"
I
almost died!! I must have said "BlackBride" instead of
"BridePride"!!!
As I stammered trying to explain that I meant BridePride, the
community,
instead of Black Bride, my aka, hubby quickly stepped in and
explained
what I meant to say to Mick! Mick giggled and said that he
understood
and I still wanted to disappear and die!!
Whew!!
Now that I got my first encounter out of the way, hopefully I'll
do
better the next time.
Don't laugh at me too hard. I'm still kicking myself!!
