Biography
The (very) abridged story of my life
Born on the bayou south of Jennings, La., in 1983, I spent my first few
years of life as a typical Louisiana kid - learning to hunt, fish and
trap with my father. At the young age of four, however, my life changed
drastically when my father decided to join the U.S. Navy. During the next
six years my family crisscrossed the country, traveling from the Atlantic
Ocean to the Pacific and from Canada to Mexico. During that time
we experienced snowstorms, racial diversity and even an earthquake - all
things one rarely finds in Louisiana.
Those six years ended and my family moved back to our hometown of Jennings, La. After junior high and high school in the small community of Hathaway, 10 miles north of Jennings, I found myself at Louisiana State University, where I am now in my fourth year. I am currently pursuing my interests in the media, politics, agriculture and French - one of the benefits of such a large university. I even spent last year in Aix-en-Provence, France, studying politics on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. I should finish my undergraduate work in May 2005 with a dual degree in animal science (poultry focus) and mass communication (political communication focus) with minors in French and political science.
Life after LSU should be exciting. At this point, I am considering
the pursuit of a master's degree in public administration, coupled with a juris
doctor law degree. Eventually, I hope to return to Louisiana to work
in the political arena. |
