2001 - Two silver medalist, Irene Garcia of the
Philippines will be hoping to score herself a Gold medal
in the Women's Masters when she topped the pack with a
score of 1,717 pinfalls.
She
was 31 pins ahead of teammate, Liza del Rosario in
second with 1,686. Another Filipino, Liza Clutario
completed the domination in the Women's Masters scoring
1,684 for the top three placings. And showing their
might, Cecilia Yap took fourth spot with 1,666 pinfalls.
Singapore's
hope of winning a Gold medal now lies with Jennifer Tan
who was in fifth place with 1,654 while her teammate,
Cheryl Soon lies sixth with 1,652.
Four
Gold medalists, Shalin Zulkifli had a poor start but
recover slightly in 13th position while her teammates,
Sharon Chai (1,639), Lai Kin Ngoh (1615) and
Wendy Chai (1,612) are 8th, 9th and 11th respectively.
Thailand's best finisher was Kanit Kichtham in 7th place
with 1,643.
The
2nd block of 7 games continues tomorrow morning to
culminate in a final Position Round match to determine
the champion.
