Player Player Profile
Don Harmling 1960 I was too young to remember when Don played, but Coach Molter tells me that he was one of the best players he ever
coached.  That says it all when you look at the list of players he has coached.
Mark Vander Jagt 1961 Can't argue with this selection.  Mark still holds many of the school records he set over thirty years ago.  He was a
Special Mention All State selection and one of only two Cedar Grove High School graduates ever to play division one college basketball.
Don Vander Jagt 1964 Don was a prolific scorer during his three years as a starter.  He scored 30 points or more eight times his senior year.
He's close to the top of every scoring category listed in this book.
Ken Ver Gowe 1967 Here's another one no one will argue with.  Ken received All State honors his senior year and is still considered by
many to be Cedar Grove's best player ever.  Ken went on to become one of the all-time leading scorers for
UW-Oshkosh after graduating from Cedar Grove.
Mark Huenink 1969 Mark is one of the best outside shooters I can remember playing for Cedar Grove. A great pressure player, he once
sunk two free throws with no time remaining to send a tournament game against Sheboygan Falls into overtime.
Cedar Grove ended up winning by two.
Carl Nonhof 1970 Carl could handle the ball as good as anyone I've ever seen, was an excellent defensive player and could shoot with
the best of them.  Carl was an Honorable Mention All State player and went on to play at Marquette as a Freshman
before an injury sidelined him.
Dean Te Beest 1971 A three year starter, Dean was one of Cedar Grove's best big men ever.  Tough on the boards, he scored most of his
points inside.  An excellent free throw shooter, he sank two that won the game against Sheboygan Falls mentioned
above.
Kent Neerhof 1976 Kent scored nearly 700 points in only two seasons as a starter.  He could shoot from the outside and inside and
rebound with the big guys.  I had the good fortune of playing with some very talented players and Kent was the best
of them.
T.J. Teunissen 1991 T.J. was one of the quickest players I've ever seen play for Cedar Grove.  He was one of the most dependable
freethrow shooters I can remember and could hit the threes with the best of them.  T.J. went on to have a fine career at Lakeland College.
Nate Pomeday 1995 Nate could do it all.  His ball handling skills were phenomenal and he could shoot from anywhere on the floor.  Nate
was an  Honorable Mention All State selection following the 1994-95 season and went on to play at Northwestern
University of the Big Ten.

Player Player Profile
Ron Huibregtse 1954 Ron was the first of the big-time scorers for Cedar Grove.  He still ranks number 16 on the career scoring list, even
though the statistics for his junior year were not available.
Warren Claerbout 1956 Whenever I'm talking basketball with anyone old enough to remember the players from the 1950's, Warren's name
is one that is always mentioned.  His average of over 18 points a game is still is one of the highest ever by a guard.
Ron Heuver 1958 Ron was a three year starter and the first in a series of excellent big men for Cedar Grove.  He averaged better
than 13 points a game over his career, excellent when you consider that four players averaged in double figures on each of the teams he played with.
Lee De Master 1959 Lee's name is another that seems synonymous with Cedar Grove High School Basketball.  I'm told he was a great
all around athlete who could do it all on the floor.  A three year starter, he averaged better than ten points a game each season.
Lowell Voskuil 1961 Lowell averaged 12 points a game his senior year, even though their offense centered around Mark Vander Jagt
who averaged nearly 30 a game.  He received Honorable Mention All State honors following the 1961 season.
Craig Otte 1976 Craig played against two of the best big men the Central Lakeshore Conference has ever had and always played
them tough, even though giving up about five inches to both, (Craig was about 6'-5").  Craig was a four year starter
and the only Freshman ever to score 30 or more points in a game.
Steve Wisse 1982 Steve was one of the most dominant offensive players to play in the 1980's.  He was the only player to average 20
or more points a game from 1972-1989, the longest such dry spell in Cedar Grove's history.
Jim Obbink 1987 An excellent all around player on offense and defense.  Too bad he graduated a year before the three point rule
came into effect, it may have been worth about another 75 points for him.
Craig De Ruyter 1989 Craig was a dominant inside player that excited the crowd with some monster jams.  He played especially tough
in the tourney in 1989.  Craig was an Honorable Mention All State selection his senior year.
Jan Hoitink 1989 An excellent outside shooter, Jan could hit the threes as well as anyone I've seen play.  He was a shooting threat
from anywhere on the floor and rarely missed free throws.  His 38 points against Howards Grove in 1989 was the most by a player in a single game since 1971.
