Rangers TargetsKennet Andersson
Kennet Andersson
Kennet Andersson is the latest star to turn down a move to Ibrox. The big striker was a huge hit in the 1994 World Cup, but only scored 7 goals last season as Bari were relegated from Serie A. He is currently hoping for a move to Fiorentina or AC Milan.
David Murray revealed that Kennet Andersson was offered to Rangers on three separate occasions but that Walter Smith was not interested in the player. Murray is annoyed by reports that a host of big name stars have rejected moves to Glasgow.
Kennet Andersson has moved to Bologna from Bari for a fee believed to be around £3 million.
Walter Smith is certain to sign another player before the Scottish transfer deadline on 31 March. Bologna striker Kennet Andersen is top of the wanted list. He has recently fallen out with Bologna's coach and would be certain to welcome a move to Scotland.
Walter Smith is set to make a bid for Swedish striker Kennet Andersson. Smith watched the player score for Bologna in a 3-2 defeat by Fiorentina yesterday. Rangers are desperately short of experienced strikers with injuries to Rozental, Andersen and Durie. The Evening Times puts the fee at around £4 million while The Sun says the fee would be £7 million.
Rangers will not meet Bologna's £7 million valuation of Swedish international striker Kennet Andersson.
Newspapers in Italy are saying that Bologna have rejected a £7 million offer from Rangers for Swedish international Kennet Andersson.
Rangers target Kennet Andersson has admitted that he is ready to talk to Celtic in the summer. Tommy Burns is believed to have followed up Rangers lead by making a firm enquiry about the Bologna striker.
Andersson said "it is a question of money. If Celtic were to make me a good enough offer, I would definitely consider it. Bologna won't let me go until the end of the season and if the truth be told, Rangers hold more interest for me because Joachim Bjorklund and Jonas Thern are there."
Reports in Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport today claim that Rangers have completed the signing of 29 year old Bologna striker Kennet Andersson for £6.5 million.
