The Mariners first uniform design was highlighted by a trident forming the "M" on the front of the home jersey. The double-knit, pull-over V-neck jersey consisted of blue letters and numbers with gold trim. The trident design was in existence for the club's first four seasons.
The Mariners' second uniform design included lettering in blue with gold and blue trim, arched and centered; numbers in blue with gold and blue trim on the front of the home jersey. The road uniform color switched from blue to gray in 1985. The insignia on the cap consisted of the trident/star logo, which was developed for the 1979 All-Star game in the Kingdome.
The Mariners' third uniform was quite a departure from the trident design. The word "Mariners" appeared on the front of the home jersey in block lettering with blue drop shadow and gold accent. For the first time in club history, the uniform was a botton-front style with blue piping. The trident was replaced on the cap by a gold "S" with blue border and gold drop shadow.
The Mariners' current uniform incorporates new colors and a new design.The new colors of navy blue, metallic silver, and Northwest green and the new logo comprise the "Nautical Compass Rose" logo represents the sea, technology and the great outdoors; all of which are indigenous to the great Pacific Northwest.
