Jussie's report on Round 5, 1999/2000

The Men

OK, so this is also a little bit late...sue me! I have been so not busy that I can't find any time to fit in a report, although a report has been dancing around in my head for a week now. (work that out!?!)

Anyhoo, here is the night as I saw it.

The men's team is just the most super hurdling team going around! I have to personally thank all the guys for their superb efforts and the way that they show up and go about their business so cooly. Thanks guys.

As usual, we got off to a flyer, thanks to the 400m hurdlers. Brendan ran another PB and will only get faster. We all wish him good luck as he goes after that world junior qualifier. Stu is just a machine

Hans threw well in the hammer and is a great organiser of the team as well.

Nick threw well in the jav again, while Tommy came out with a big PB and can now really set his sights on the nationals qualifier.

Bo, Nfa and Aaron ran well in the 200s and the latter dobled up again to run in the high hurdles. Nfa ran another PB in the hurdles, while Aaron took his down to 15.35.

Matt Woodruff was a welcome return after a sojourn in Tassie looking at salmon and stuff, while Chris Muirden continued his "meat and Potatoes" exploits in the 5000m (his words, not mine!)

In the 800 Tony was his usual self, while Neil pulled out a seasons best of 1.53.2. It was also good to see Andrew Jones back on track after a few medical exams.

Sadly,we were not able to hold off Western Suburbs in the 4x400 to claim victory for the night, going down by 4 points. It won't be long before we start winning these close ones, so just sit tight.

Finally, good luck to the folks going to Sydney for the Nationals but please, don't get in too much trouble (you know who you are!)

Women

I am soooo sorry, but I don't have program round up for last week. Please forgive me, but I will try to sort it out come the next round. Sorry.

Cheers, Justin
