Javier Torres Lopez

Javy is the Atlanta Braves starting catcher.  He is 6-3 and weighs 200.  He bats
and throws right-handed.  Lopez was born on 11-5-70 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Javy and his family reside in Ponce, Puerto Rico, but I have heard he is building
in the Atlanta area.
Javy is married to wife,Analy, and they have a son Javier Alexander (3 yrs).
Javy was acquired by the Braves as an undrafted free agent in 1987.  On May 28, 1998
he signed a three year extension to his contract.
Javy loves vactioning in the Grand Cayman Islands.  He loves watching Star Wars.
Lopez became the second catcher to ever be named MVP of the NLCS after batting
.542 against the St. Louis Cardinals in 1996 (St. Louis' Darrell Porter was MVP
in '82).
Javy is my personal favorite.  Meeting him was a highlight of my life.
Javy's mom passed away last week and our thoughts and prayers are with him
and his entire family.  God Bless You!
