The Tallahassee Tiger Sharks,in conjunction with the East Coast Hockey League, are pleased to announce that both Brent Cullaton and Andrew Long were named to the ECHL Southern Conference All-Star Team.
"The Guys have worked hard all season," said Head Coach Gerry Fleming. "They deserve this chance to shine in front of their peers. We are very happy for them and proud of what they have accomplished to date."
Cullaton and Long are two key factors in the Tiger Sharks' success this season. Cullaton,26,has been a consistent League leader in points for much of the season. The 6'0",200 lbs. right winger will make his first appearance,as a starter,in an All-Star game and first in a Tiger Sharks uniform. He was a reserve player in the 1997-98 IHL All-Star game.
Long,22,has also been an impact player this season for the Tiger Sharks. While maintaining a top ten standing in League scoring,he was twice named ECHL Player of the Week (only repeat winner) and was honored with the Player of the Month award for December.
Thanks to his success, the 6'2",190 lbs. center was recalled to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League on January 3. It is unclear at this time whether he will be able to participate in the All-Star event.
All-Star festivities get underway Monday,February 12 at 7:00 pm CST with the Skills Competition followed by the All-Star Game on Tuesday,February 13. ESPN2 will broadcast the game, tape delayed,on Wednesday,February 14. All activities take place at the ALLTEL arena in North Little Rock,Arkansas. For ticket information, call (501) 975-7575.
NOTE: If Andrew Long does not return to the team in time for the all-star game,Adam Copeland will represent the Tiger Sharks along with Brent Cullaton.
