ITC ECHL Team of the Week -
Tallahassee Tiger Sharks

For the second time in five weeks, the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks are the ITC ECHL team of the week. Although the future of the franchise is in doubt, on the ice, the Tiger Sharks are the hottest team in the league. After a slow start, Tallahassee is 19-3-2 in their last 24, and are currently on a five game winning streak. Last week they posted a perfect 3-0 mark against quality opposition. After beating Greenville, the Tiger Sharks are knocked off division leaders South Carolina and Louisiana on back to back days in less than a 48 hour span.

ECHL Power Poll

Trenton remains a solid #1 but for the first time in a while, we have a major shakeup in the top ten. Nearly all of last week's top ten teams are slumping - the number 2 through 5 teams from last week went a combined 1-9-2. Dayton and Peoria took full advantage, with the Bombers jumping all the way to #2. Meanwhile, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Tallahassee each took big falls.

the best...
1. (1) Trenton
With the other top teams struggling, the Titans are in the driver's seat for the Brabham Cup; won two out of three last week, with the only loss a surprising shutout defeat at home to last place Greensboro.
2. (7) Dayton
Have won 6 in a row and 8 out of 10 to move into first place in the Northwest division; allowed only 6 goals in 4 games last week, including two shutouts.
3. (6) Peoria
Have a favorable schedule down the stretch, with 13 of their remaining 20 games at home.
4. (5) Toledo
After winning five straight, suffered through an 0-2-2 week last week; despite that, moves up in poll thanks to everyone else slumping.
5. (3) Tallahassee
Suddenly, Sharks are slumping - lost two straight and have only 3 wins in their past 10 games.
6. (2) South Carolina
Peaked too soon? Rays have lost 3 straight and 7 out of 10 and aren't the same team they were earlier in the season.
7. (4) Louisiana
Continue to struggle - Ice Gators have lost 4 in a row and suddenly, winning the Southwest division is not a sure thing.
8. (8) Pee Dee
Pride are now only two points out of first place in the Southeast division; rank in the top ten in both power play and on the penalty kill.
9. (9) Charlotte
What was a high-powered offense suddenly can't score - the Checkers were shutout 3 times last week and incredibly, have scored just 9 goals in their last 7 games.
10. (10) Mississippi
Win over Louisiana was huge - all of a sudden the Sea Wolves are back in the hunt for the Southwest division title.
