OVERVIEW

The Canucks got their revenge against Nashville in a 5-3 win at the Garage.  Canuck goalie Corey Hirsch faced 10 shots in the first period, but blanked the Predators.  The Canucks managed a measly 3 shots in that period, but rookie scoring leader Bill Muckalt put that third shot past goalie Vokoun to put the Canucks in a lead they never lost.  Tough guy Donald Brashear snapped a long shot from the left side boards just over the blue line to make the score 2-0 in a goal that Vokoun must have wanted back.  The game winner was scored at 3:17 by Mark Messier short-handed with the score 3-1.  That's Messier's seventh goal of the year, keeping him amongst in the top scorers in the league, in a start that's just been fantastic for the legend.   Former Canuck favorite Cliff Ronning, recently traded to Nashville, was pointless in the game, and was even handed a 10-minute misconduct in a tiff with one of the referees.
