OVERVIEW
The Canucks looked flat in the beginning, but didn't come on strong enough in the end to avoid a 4-3 loss to LA Kings. The scoring opened 5:22 in the first when Glen Murray potted a shorthanded goal, in a flashback to the Canucks season opener when LA's Yanic Perrault scored twice shorthanded. The Kings' Robitaille, who scored twice in the game, made the game 2-0 at 6:28 of the first, putting the Canucks in big trouble. However, solid goaltending by Corey Hirsch allowed the Canucks to crawl back and tie the game in the third on a brilliant pass from Alexander Mogilny from behind the net to Markus Naslund at 14:22. LA snapped the dream less than two minutes later when Vladimir Tsyplakov scored the game winner. Garth Snow started the game, but was yanked by Coach Mike Keenan 6:28 into the game after letting in 2 goals on 4 shots. Corey Hirsch replaced Snow and was solid, including averting a Luc Robitaille hattrick with a brilliant stop.

THREE STARS
Luc Robitaille, LA | Lucky Luc had two goals, and would have had the hat trick if it weren't for Corey Hirsch.
Alexander Mogilny, VAN | Had a shorthanded goal and an assist on the game tying goal that never was, showing the reason why Mogilny is one of the most talented wingers in the league.
Glen Murray, LA | Had a shorthanded goal to start the scoring, and an assist on Robitaille's second of the night. |
