Canucks Silent in Waiver Draft

The Canucks remained dormant in the waiver draft, choosing not to acquire any of the unprotected players. The NHL's newest team, the Nashville Predators, picked first and chose C Brent Gilchrist from Detroit. Soon after, though, he was traded back to Detroit for a 6th round draft pick - obviously a pre-arranged deal. Nine players in total were taken this year, none particularily exciting.
