The Canucks won their season opener against Los Angeles 4-2 in exciting fashion.  The game featured a career performance by Peter Zezel, who got 2 goals and assist, and narrowly missed a chance at the hat-trick after LA's D Doug Bodger blocked a shot from a 2-on-1.  Canucks' goalie Garth Snow was solid throughout, and was particularily spectacular in the third period, stopping 9 LA shots to maintain the lead.  The Canucks looked to be in trouble after C Yanic Perreault scored two short-handed goals, giving the Kings a 2-1 lead going into the third.  The Canucks came back with 3 unanswered goals, including an empty-netter by Mogilny.
