Lightning Strikes in Third Period

In a flashback to last year, the Canucks fell apart in the third period to lost 3-2 to the Lightning.  The Canucks were looking good for two periods, thanks to Mattius Ohlund's two goals.   Both goals were similar, with Ohlund jumping up into the play, receiving a cross-ice pass, shooting on Kirk McLean, and collecting his own rebound to score.   But the Canucks 2-1 lead was sliced away after Tampa Bay scored two goals in the third period.  Wendel Clark and former Canuck Jassen Cullimore put the nails into the Canucks coffin at 0:43 and 7:37 in the third period.  The Canucks bench was shortened early, after Keenan found many of the Canucks younger players inadequate.  Vincent Lecavalier, the first overall pick in last year's draft, scored his first NHL goal when the Canucks defense broke down, and he was left to fire a shot high over Garth Snow from the slot.
