Paul is the son of Tetsuhiko and Sharon Kariya.He is currently single for you ladies out there. His father played several tours with the Canadian National Rugby Team.Paul is of Japanese descent (father is 100%).While studying at Maine he was a Dean's List student. Some of his hobbies include tennis,golf,swimming,weight lifting,tennis and reading.At the beginning of 1994-95 season Paul took up juggling. Here are some of his favorites food-seafood,Movie- Goodfellas, TV Show- Friends,Actor-Robert DeNiro, NHL City-Toronto,and his Pre-game meal-pasta& vegetables. His first job ever was construction work. His first game(1/20/95 @ EDM)as his most memorable moment in the NHL so far.While growing up Paul also played lacrosse.
