It's amazing the stuff that comes out of huge all-devouring companies such as Microsoft. Age of Empires is a lovely game in which you control a civilization through four periods of human ancient history: the Stone Age, Tool Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. You build buildings, which produce units and can also be used to research technologies such as the wheel and metalworking. You can use your units to do battle with other civilizations. This does not begin to explain the concept of Age of Empires, I know, but I figure if you've gotten here you probably know what the game's about.
The graphics on this game are beautiful. Take for example the horses around the title and the various creatures at the bottom of the page.. There are also wonders of the world that can be built, and since I felt like using my little animation program some more, here they are:
