Thursday, December 31st, 1998 Straight Outta Lima Final Review Yahoo/Sandbox Straight Outta Lima had a different rule book than ESPN's Global Football League. In SOL, there're no playoff games - it's a 17-week, 17-game regular season, and the team with the best record wins the SOL Championship. The Sao Paulo 55ers (owner Carlos Curro) repeated as champions, as they won the championship last year (playing in Sandbox's Pele's League). That year, they finished with an impressive 14-3 record. This season, though, they went even further, as the 55ers managed a perfect, undefeated, untied, 17-0 season. The Charlotte Nedrecks (owner Sam Pacifico) had a very strong finish, wining their last seven games to get the second place in the league with a 12-5 record, passing the struggling Sao Paulo Hard Plays (owner Luis Curro) in the final weeks. The Hard Plays finished third with a 11-6 record. Let's check the Final Standings:
