News Update--4/1/99

ARE YOU READY?!? I SAID ARE YOU READY?!? Then for the millions reading on the net, lets get ready for the news update!

Hi guys, my name is Robert Vernon and this is my first news report. I will update every week or so or if something big happens, I will try to cover it. Anyway enough, let's get on with all the latest happenings in the WWF.

Fist things first, let's talk about the RAW after the big one. It was quite entertaining to say the least as story lines were stretched further. Triple H battling old mucker X-Pac, the Women's division built on and the long awaited showing of Vince's daughter, Stephanie McMahon. Read the RAW report by going here if you missed it. The WWF hammered WCW in the ratings with 6.5 and 3.55 composites respectively.

The Triple H turn was very surprising to me, especially as it was so sudden and even though he is to fight Stone Cold soon, it was still unexpected none the less. We have to wonder what is going on now with DX and The Corporation. Will DX continue? I think they will and with Kane in their corner. He needs to sort out his feud with HHH and Chyna. This would be the ideal way to do it as X-Pac stated on RAW that DX would not fold. Shawn Michaels also has to be considered as entering the DX fold as not a wrestler but more or a mentor. The arrival of HHH in the corporation means many things. He is coming up to his rivalry with Austin and in also affects the other people in the corporation, one such person is Test. Even though he is starting to get pushed, he will placed further down the corporation pecking order in my opinion. He may even leave the fold to join DX. Who knows, we will have to wait and see.

On to another member of Vince's group, The Rock. I think he will soon leave the corporation as it is getting pretty crowded in there. He will return to his people's roots and once again be a top face, as the WWF has to keep its balance between top heels and faces. As HHH is now heel someone must go the other way. Will it be the Rock, I think so.

News from England. The "No Mercy" PPV is now sold out so if you have a ticket consider yourself lucky. It will emanate from the Manchester Evening News Arena on May 16th. I will be there and will cover it on this site as well as rajahwwf.com so check it out if you get chance. If it as good as the last PPV to come from England, then we are in for a treat.

Steve Austin and Shawn Micheals have had relationship troubles as of late. Austin wife, Jeanie, has filed for divorce and Shawn's long time fiancée, Jennifer, has split from him. Mark Henry should be back soon after his knee surgery. Paul Wight has been acquitted of assaulting a fan after an incident in a New York hotel.

Steve Austin was acclaimed for his role on Nash Bridges which, appeared on CBS on Feb 26th. A big well-done goes out to him. Mankind will have a few weeks off from his wrestling duty to recover in tine for his PPV "Backlash". Expect to see him now and then in a non-wrestling capacity for a while. It is rumored that Austin Vs Mankind will be the main event of that card.

Ken Shamrock's contract runs out soon and the WWF are attempting to keep him from the UFC by giving him more air time. We will see how it goes. Marc Mero should be back at the end of April.

Lastly don’t expect Dr. Death to get over in any way shape or form even when he wins the Hardcore championship from Hardcore Holly. He is getting a massive push but I just have a feeling it won't work. Oh well I am rubbish at predictions but we will see how it goes.

See you for now, I will return hopefully next week with a new update with the latest happenings. Don't forget to check out rajahwwf.com as that is where this site was inspired from. Thanks Raj. See ya
