The win coincided with a shock recall to the squad for forgotten star, J MIszalowski, out for the last 2 seasons with a career-threatening knee injury sustained in a freak accident while heidbanging at a Reef concert.
Miszalowski had previously only had a couple of friendlies under his belt since the horror injury and it was widely felt that a top-team comeback was still a long-way away. However, Veitch had obviously seen enough to be willing to pitch Miszalowski into the red-hot atmosphere of the Henley cauldron for the match against unknowns Cable Utilities.
It was a move which could either make or break Veitch's Noverry managerial career, but fortunately, the decision paid off as Noverry turned in their best display of the season, playing some fine flowing football and netting some vintage Noverry Athletic goals.
To cap it all, comeback star, J Miszalowski, who entered the fray early in the 2nd half to cries of "look, that wee diving bastard is back", set up Noverry's 3rd goal for fan's favourite N Mitchell to slot away. It was the Miszalowski of old, as he stumbled over the ball with the goal at his mercy but somehow managed to force the ball thorugh to N Mitchell who made no mistake with a clinical finish.
A convincing vixtory for Noverry Athletic which it is hoped will set them right back on course. As far as the players and supporters are concerned, the crisis is over - Noverry Athletic are back!
