The pair had been out on a session and returned to the home they share to continue their drinking spree.
At around 5:30am, it is alleged that nutty 'keeper Costello decided that clothes were an unnecessary extravagance, and began peeling them off and running naked down the street.
Costello is alleged to have returned to the house claiming "that was really invigorating" and inviting Lee to join him in his sordid "fun". Lee wasted no time and joined his comrade in their barefaced high jinks.
Startled housewives opening their curtains expecting to see birds happily chirping in the new day were shocked to instead see the sight of Costello and Lee's hideous naked forms.
The sight got even worse as Lee alleges that Costello "got a stiffie" whilst the nude frivolities ensued. In fact, severe bouts of vomiting were reported by many shocked onlookers who were subjected to such a ghastly ordeal.
Understandably, the Noverry hierarchy are keen to distance themselves from this incident. A spokesman for the Club said "there is no room for buftiness in this club - it will not be tolerated"
Previously, Noverry Athletic came close to disciplining current no.1 shotstopper Colin Sneddon when it was revealed that he had participated in bufty sports such as hockey and cricket. Fortunately for Sneddon his plea of "ahm no a bufty" was accepted and his career with the Club was allowed to continue.
However, the jury is still out on Costello and Lee. Costello has been banished to Ireland to seek urgent psychiatric help and it is doubtful whether he will ever play for Noverry Athletic again. Meanwhile, Lee has been placed under suspension and missed Monday's 3-3 draw with Eagle Freight, pending an internal enquiry into the incident.
