Everton went into this game with history on their side, they have gone eight games unbeaten against Liverpool the last defeat coming in March 1994. Can Everton maintain this record and go 8 games unbeaten this season and 9 games in the derby? Yes they did but they stull went on having not scored any goals at home this season yet. Its now 450 minutes of football that there is no goals in Goodison Park. Many thought that the arival of Ibrahima Bakayoko could change all that but he himself struggle in his Everton debut. He had a chance as early in the very first minute and everytime he gets the ball he tries to take players on but always fails. But i am sure it is obvious that he is good striker and it won't be long before he starts banging. Ferguson was obviously the most dangerous Everton player having two great chances and laying for others too. Myhre for Everton had a fantastic game puting out Fowler twice in the first half with great saves. In defence we were goos Watson found it difficult to cope with Owen's pace but still manage to put him out of the game. Clelland was excellant and so was Ball, Unsworth had many encounters with Fowler especially after they both got sent of 2 seasons back. In midfield Collins was good, he had one chance on the freekick which was craved out very well. Then there was the return of injury prone 23 year Grant and he will definitely be a fans favourite everytime he is in the team but on this occasion Grant just could not get a hold of the game, but nevertheless his return to the team makes competition for places even greater. Hutchison was a pitbull in midfield and always neck to neck with Ince, both were book. Cadamarteri came on as a substitute in second hald and always had a buss when he had the ball. On the whole it was dissapointing derby game and on this 159th Derby clash it settled in to a 50 th draw. Everton still have to look back and see a route to the Goodison net. Next comes Manchester United and this will only makes things harder but with Dacourt and Materazzi coming back and with this long unbeaten stretch maybe we will finally break the dock.
