Gresham's Jeremy Pieper scored 31 points before fouling out early in the fourth quarter of the Wildcats' 69-64 win at Tigerton.
The Tigers came out cold, shooting only 25% in the first quarter while committing seven turnovers. Gresham was able to build a 19-7 heading into the second quarter. Nick Desrochers scored 12 points in the second period to help Tigerton close to within seven at the half, 33-26.
Tigerton was able to close to within seven points early in the third, but a 12-0 run by the Wildcats pushed the lead back to double digits. The Wildcats led 54-40 after the third quarter.
Gresham's lead remained over 15 points until Pieper fouled out. Tigerton began fouling, and Gresham was unable to put the game away at the line, connecting on only 5 of 18 attempts after Pieper's departure. Tigerton was only able to close to within five before the clock ran out on their 69-64 loss.
Desrochers led the Tigers with 29 points and three assists. Matt Schoening and Ryan Neuman contributed career highs of 11 and 10 points respectively. Tigerton's next game is on Friday against the Almond-Bancroft Eagles, whom they defeated, 48-45, earlier.
