Port Edwards jumped to an early 10-2 advantage en route to an easy 53-30 victory in Tigerton.
After jumping out to the big early lead, the Blackhawks slowed the pace of the game, frustrating both the Tigers and their fans. Tigerton was able to stay close however, and trailed by only six at the half, 21-15.
In an attempt to speed up the game, Tigerton switched their defensive strategies. Unfortunately, this allowed Port Edwards' offense to come alive as they outscored the Tigers 32-15 in the second half. The Blackhawks stingy defense never allowed the Tigers to get any momentum back in the second half.
Jason Littlefield led the Tigers with 13 points, while Nick Desrochers was held to a season-low five points. Ben Holy led a balanced Port Edwards attack with 13 points. The Tigers next game is a non-conference tilt with the Gillett Tigers next Tuesday.
