The upstart Panthers forced 17 turnovers and had 10 steals to win their first CWC Small conference game over the visiting Tigers.
Bowler's Brad Emmel started the contest with an easy lay-up through the Tigerton defense that set the tone for the game. Tigerton was able to play with the Panthers in the first quarter, and led 9-7 after one on a three-pointer from Nick Desrochers.
The second quarter remained fairly even, with Tigerton taking leads as big as five points. Bowler answered every Tigerton run however, and trailed only 22-19 at halftime.
The second half would be different. Tigerton's sloppy play, combined with their low shooting percentage, allowed Bowler to take a 34-30 lead into the fourth quarter. Bowler had opportunities to open up a big lead early in the period, but midway through it, Tigerton trailed only 36-33. Bowler went on a 6-0 run to open up a 42-33 lead which Tigerton could not overcome.
Desrochers led all scorers with 19 points. Nikk Brei and Brad Emmel led a balanced Panther attack with nine points each. Tigerton's next game is on the road against the Wild Rose Wildcats, whom they defeated 61-52 to open conference play.
