Nick Desrochers scored 24 of his 28 points in the second half, but it was not enough as Tigerton could not overcome a 21-6 first quarter hole at Gresham.
Tigerton shot only 3-of-12 from the field in the first quarter compared to red hot 9-of-14 shooting by the Wildcats. Three offensive rebounds by Gresham also helped the Wildcats create the big advantage.
Desrochers was held to four points in the first half as Gresham took a 36-20 halftime advantage. He finally got on track in the third quarter, scoring nine points, and continued in the fourth, hitting four three-pointers. Tigerton outscored Gresham 22-15 in the fourth, but it was too little too late as Gresham held on to the 65-54 victory.
Desrochers' 28 points led all scorers. Josh Graham contributed a season-high 11 points for the Tigers. Jeremy Pieper led the Wildcats with 20 points. Tigerton next plays Bowler on Parent's Night on Friday.
