Nick Desrochers led the Tigers with 32 points, pushing his career total to over 1,000 points. His contributions were not enough to counter Iola's team quickness as Tigerton fell, 77-57.
Desrochers started the scoring with a three-point shot in transition that gave the Tigers their only lead of the night at 3-0. After keeping close throughout most of the first quarter, Iola went on a 10-2 run over the final two minutes to lead, 21-11. The second quarter was fairly even, with Iola taking a 42-28 into the locker room.
The third quarter was similar until Desrochers scored nine points in a 1:03 span to bring Tigerton within eight points at 51-43. Iola outscored the Tigers 13-5 to finish the quarter however, and led 64-48. Tigerton would not make another run at the Thunderbirds; the final score was 77-57.
The Tigers played the game without Jason Littlefield again, whose status remains unclear. Matt Schoening rejoined the team after sitting out one game. The next contest is at home against the Tri-County Penguins on Friday night.
