Almond-Bancroft outscored the Tigerton Tigers 25-16 in the final period to blow open an otherwise close contest in the makeup game Monday night.
Tigerton kept the game close early, as Paul Schuh scored four first quarter points and Nick Desrochers scored 10 in the first half. Almond-Bancroft led at the break, 21-18.
Tigerton's offense worked well to start the third quarter, breaking the recent trend that has hurt the team. Randy Tiutczenko scored six points in the third to help the Tigers keep pace. Almond-Bancroft was able to wear down the Tigers' defense late in the half, however, scoring 43 second-half points, to seal the win.
Desrochers led all scorers with 21 points while Almond-Bancroft was led by Steve Nickel with 19 points. Tigerton plays the Manawa Wolves in a non-conference tilt tomorrow night.
