In The Tigerton Tigers' first road game of the season, they were outscored 57-28 in the final three quarters as they dropped a difficult game to the conference-leading Rosholt Hornets, 67-41.
Tigerton played well in the first quarter, building a 13-10 lead, but Rosholt went on a descisive 13-2 run to start the second quarter, taking a 34-22 halftime lead.
The Tigers never made a serious run at the Hornets, who built their lead to 48-29 after three periods en route to the twenty-six point win.
Turnovers played a key role in the Rosholt rout in the final three periods; Tigerton committed 24 turnovers in these three quarters while they forced only 11. For the game, Rosholt shot 35% compared to 33% for the Tigers. Jason Littlefield led the Tigers with 17 points, while Jason Scott of Rosholt led all scorers with 26.
The victory improved Rosholt's record to 2-0 in conference play, while Tigerton fell to 1-1 (1-2 overall). Tigerton again travels on Friday night, when they go to Almond to face the defending conference champion Eagles.
