Tigerton's tough second-half of conference play came to a conclusion with a painful 47-39 defeat to the Bowler Panthers on Parents' Night.
Tigerton's seniors- Josh Graham, Nick Desrochers, Jamie Wudstrack, and Andy Kriegel- got to start their last home regular season game. Tigerton got off to a good start as Wudstrack scored the first five points, helping Tigerton to an early 8-2 lead. Bowler tied the score by the end of the quarter at 8-8.
Mike Adam of Bowler helped the Panthers' cause in the second half by scoring six of his eight points. The Tigers missed some opportunities to stay even with Bowler, and they trailed at halftime, 19-16.
Bowler took control of the game in the third quarter as Luke Miller and Scott Claus combined for ten points. Desrochers helped Tigerton stay in the game with two three-pointers, but the Tigers trailed 34-28 after the third.
The Panthers held on to win the game in the fourth quarter by hitting 9-of-15 free throws. Randy Tiutczenko trimmed the defecit to 39-35 with 3:00 to play with a three-point play, but Bowler converted their free throw opportunities to win the game. Desrochers was held scoreless in the fourth period and finished with a game-high 13 points. Tigerton hosts the eighth-ranked Suring Eagles in the first round of Regional play on Tuesday.
