Chapter Twenty Three

~~~~~~~~~~~
Sable began pacing the ring when she heard 'Nemesis' music hit the speakers. Her eyes narrowed when Astrid stepped out onto the Smackdown set accompanied by Randy.
Astrid stood on the stage, her hands planted on her hips as she glared at the woman in the ring. Her temper flared as she thought about what Sable had said and done to Jaela.
"Cut the music!" Sable screeched into the microphone, her body shaking as the sound of the music and the fans cheering wildly for Astrid grated sharply on her nerves. All she'd gotten was booed when she'd come out.
Finally the music drifted out and Sable stopped pacing. She stood in the middle of the ring, returning Astrid's glare for a moment before speaking. "I want a match against you tonight, Nemesis." She nearly spat and then paused when the crowd went wild at hearing her challenge. "I want the match to be for the Women's Championship and I want the match to be for your spot in Evolution. When this match is over, not only will I have kicked your pathetic ass, but I will also have your belt and be a member of Evolution."
Astrid kept her glare trained on Sable for a full minute before she nodded her head in agreement to the stipulations. "Alright, you've got yourself a match. But I can guarantee that you're going to regret it." She stated her promise with confidence.
"We'll just see about that." Sable returned, her eyes and voice cold. The two women continued to stare at each other for several moments before Astrid turned and headed off the set to the back of the arena, Randy following closely behind her.
*****
"Yeah, go Astrid!"
"Show that bitch who is boss!"
"Kick her ass!"
Calliope Chase and Jaela all cheered after watching the confrontation between Sable and Astrid on the monitor in the back.
"Damn, I better get back to work." Jaela stated, realizing how long she'd been gone from her office and how far behind she probably was now. "If I don't see her before, tell Astrid good luck for me. I'll definitely be watching her match on the screen in my room." After saying her good byes to Chase and Calliope, she hurried out the door.
Arriving back at her 'office', Jaela opened the door and went in. She stopped in her tracks and a startled gasp escaped her when she saw Kevin still there. She wasn't sure if she was more relieved or disappointed when she noticed that he'd put his shirt back on.
"Hey." She greeted softly as she stepped further into the room, the door falling shut behind her.
"'Bout time you got back." Kevin told her, his expression neutral so Jaela really couldn't tell what he was thinking at that moment.
Jaela looked away for a moment and took in a deep breath before turning back to him. "Look, about what happened earlier..." She trailed off when Kevin held up his hand to stop her words. He opened his mouth to talk, but Jaela cut him off, already knowing what he was going to say.
"No, it's not all right. I handled the situation very badly and I should not have run out the way I did. Sable...I don't know...maybe you like her." Jaela said, suddenly feeling very doubtful and unconfident in herself. Who the hell was she fooling anyway? Herself for sure. Did she ever really stand a chance with Kevin when he was around such beautiful women all the time and she was just so...plain?
"She knows all the right buttons to push to upset me. She makes me feel so inadequate..." Jaela wasn't able to finish her words before cut her off once again.
Stepping over to where she stood, he took hold of her hands as he met her eyes, easily seeing all that she was feeling there. "Believe me, she is the one who is lacking." Kevin told her, hoping to put her doubts to rest. She was the one he wanted; not some plastic Barbie doll wannabe bitch like Sable. Jaela was real, and in his eyes, she was more woman that Sable could ever hope to be.
"And I threw her out of here after I chewed her ass for being such a bitch to you." Kevin stated, a smile curving his lips when he saw the surprise and then happiness light her eyes.
Jaela smiled sheepishly as she looked up at him, feeling very much like an idiot for doubting him and herself. "Thanks." She whispered, her heart racing as she watched his eyes soften.
"Anytime." Kevin promised her as he let go of her hands and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her tight against him. "Now, I believe this is where we were before we were so rudely interrupted." He said as he slowly lowered his head to capture her lips in a kiss that made time stand still for both of them.
Chapter Twenty Four
~~~~~~~~~~~

“Hey, baby.” Chase greeted when she walked in Adam’s locker room and found him lacing up his boots. “Did you see what just happened?” she asked.

Adam nodded as he stood up, leaning down to give his wife a kiss. “Sure did. It’s just about unanimous back stage…everyone’s pulling for Astrid.”

“I just can’t believe after all this time, and after the way she left, Sable is back. And starting right back up where she left off. Did you see that outfit she had on?” Chase asked.

“Sure did.” Adam grinned sheepishly when he caught a look. “I mean…never mind.”

Chase crossed her arms over her chest, biting back the grin that was threatening. “Uh huh.” Suddenly her eyes lit up and her whole posture change. “Shit, I almost forgot! Where’s Chris? There’s something I need to discuss with both of you.”

“I’m right here. Geez I can’t get away from for even a second without you worrying about where I am.” Chris jokingly complained as he and Calliope walked in the room and sat down.

“Bite me Y2J.” Chase shot back, then turned serious. “Okay guys, listen up. Had a meeting with McMahon a little while ago, and its official, Edge and Jericho are going to be tag team partners!”

Her announcement was greeted by an excited squeal from Calliope, while Adam and Chris jumped out of their seats and high fived each other.

Chase smiled. “There’s more.” She paused until both men settled back down and she had their full, undivided attention. She knew this next part would be a complete surprise, yet at the same time very welcome.

“Tonight during your match against the Undertaker,” she started as she looked at Chris. “Kane is going to come out and interfere. Edge will run down and we’re assuming everyone will think it’s also to attack Jericho, but you’re going to surprise everyone, and help him out.”

Both men nodded in understanding, breaking out into broad grins, knowing instinctively where this would go. Kane and Undertaker were the current Tag Team Champions…so this could only mean one thing…

“This will start the alliance between Edge and Jericho…then next week during the pay per view, you two will go against Taker and Kane for the title belts.” She paused, grinning then Adam, Chris and Calliope sat forward, practically on the edge of their seats, waiting to see if there was more.

“Well? Who wins?” Chris asked, unable to take it any longer.

“You two.”

***

Randy, Hunter and Ric all looked perplexed when Astrid came bouncing into the room a little while later. When she had left the room in search of Jaela earlier, she had been quiet and very subdued.

“Okay, for someone who is about to face one of the biggest bitches in the company, you sure are in a damn good mood.” Ric commented, unable to stop the smile when he saw the way she couldn’t stand still she was so excited.

She shook her head. “I’m in an awesome mood right now, don’t ruin it by brining up that slut!” she said, skipping across the room to finish getting ready for her match which was coming up in about twenty minutes.

“And just what has you so happy? Let me guess, Big Show just asked you out.” Hunter teased, earning himself a glare from Astrid.

“In case you didn’t notice, I’m happy, not bawling my eyes out running scared.” She shuddered at the though. “Ick!”

Randy shook his head as he laughed at the look of horror on her face. “So what has you so happy?” he asked.

“Well, I went to see Jaela, and guess what?” she asked, again jumping up and down, clapping with excitement. “Kevin was in there with her…and they were kissing!”

“Kevin Nash!?!?!?!?”

Astrid burst out laughing. “No! Kevin Miller, the hot new security guy. You know nice guy, buff, sexy as all hell.”

“Oh yeah him.” Hunter rolled his eyes. “Ever since he arrived he’s all you women talk about!”

Ric sighed as he sat down. “Listen, I hate to be a mood breaker, and as happy as I am for Jaela, we really need to discuss this match for tonight. We need a game plan.”

“I’m walking out with Astrid.” Randy stated, leaving no room for argument.

“Hey, we are Evolution…we’re all walking out together.” Hunter decided. “There is no way that bitch is getting her skanky hands on the belt, nor is she getting any where near being a member of Evolution.”

“That’s it, I’m going to go talk to Stephanie to see if there is any kind of rules we can get on this match, cuz we all know Sable is not going to play fair.” Ric said, headed towards the door.

“I’ll go with you.” Hunter said, then looked over at Randy and Astrid. “We’ll be back in time for the match, promise.”

After they left, Astrid took a deep breath to calm the butterflies that had decided to go wild in her stomach. She bit her lip as she glanced at Randy from under her lashes.

“Uh, thanks for walking out with me earlier. And offering to now.” She said softly, breaking the silence. Randy smiled easily at her, sending the butterflies into overdrive and making her weak in the knees.

“Anytime.” He promised, stepping closer to her. She suddenly found she was having difficulty breathing with him being so close. She could actually feel the body heat radiating from him, and had the sudden urge to get closer still.

She nervously licked her lips as she looked away, trying to regain some kind of self control. She jumped a little, her eyes going back to his when she felt his fingers touch her cheek.

“It’s going to be okay out there.” He swore. “We won’t let anything happen to you…hell, I won’t let anything happen to you.” He rephrased.

And just like that all her resistance, defenses and anything else that was standing in the way, disappeared. She could no longer deny herself what she truly wanted.

Never taking her eyes from his, she closed the distance between them, her arms sliding up his chest. They both moved at the same time, their lips coming together with stunning force and passion. Randy groaned deep in throat as he pulled her tightly against him, his hands burying deep in her hair.

Astrid herself was helpless to prevent the small whimper that escaped her as she tilted her head to deepen the already burning kiss. Neither knew now long they stood locked together, nor did they care. All that mattered was each other.

They didn’t break apart until someone cleared their throats loudly and knocked on the door. A stage hand was standing there, looking rather uncomfortable.

“Uh, sorry to interrupt, but you’re up next Astrid.” He said then hurried away.

Randy and Astrid turned back to each other and grinned. Instead of feeling embarrassed or nervous, they both felt completely at ease with each other, and knew right away they weren’t going to fight what they were feeling. There wasn’t any point.

“Come on.” Randy said, taking her hand and pressing a kiss to the back. “Let’s get out there so you can kick Sable’s ass. And then we can get back to more important things.”

Astrid grinned broadly as she nodded and walked with him out the door.

Chapter Twenty Five

~~~~~~~~~~~
Kevin and Jaela broke their long, searing kiss only when air became an absolute necessity for both of them. She looked up at him, seeing that he was in much the same state as she was; breathless and blue eyes glittering with passion.
"Wow." Jaela breathed, the color in her cheeks heightening further.
"I'll say." Kevin agreed before he caught her lips in another kiss that had them both reeling when it ended.
"I could really get used to this." Jaela commented once she had caught her breath a little bit.
Kevin gave her a heart-stopping smile as he reached up and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear before brushing his fingers along her cheek. "Good." He replied, his voice deep and husky. "Because I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of this happening." He told her before he leaned forward and gave her a quick, but still very fervent kiss.
"Hey, I think you're gonna want to see this." Kevin motioned to the TV screen behind Jaela when he glanced over her shoulder and saw that the match between Sable and Astrid was starting.
"Oooo, kick her ass, Astrid!" Jaela exclaimed as she turned around, her eyes fixing on the screen now in front of her. She smiled when Kevin wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his head atop hers.
They looked on as the match began, Astrid easily gaining the upper hand until Sable blocked one of her moves, changing the direction of the match. As Sable wrestled Astrid, Jaela was surprised to see that she'd seemed to have considerably honed her skills since she'd last been in the company.
Minutes into the match, the two women stood toe to toe, trading blows, neither much willing to back down. The crowd started booing wildly when Brock Lesnar suddenly appeared and ran down to the ring, immediately heading in Randy's direction. Seeing him, Astrid caught Sable with a vicious clothesline and knocked her down. She spun around just in time to see Brock flatten Randy with a chair shot from behind.
Astrid turned around again to check where Sable was, not realizing that the other woman had already gotten up and was waiting on her with a chair of her own. The next thing she knew, she was flat on the mat, hearing the bell ringing as the referee called for Sable's disqualification and ending the match.
"Oh my god!" Jaela gasped, anger flowing through her after seeing all that had happened. "I need to go make sure Astrid is okay." She stated, already heading for the door.
"I'll go with you." Kevin said, following close behind.
Chapter Twenty Six
~~~~~~~~~~~

Kevin, Jaela, Chase and Calliope all got there just as trainers and the medical teams were helping both Randy and Astrid back stage. Randy was holding the back of his head, while Astrid just looked extremely pissed.

Hunter and Ric came running down the hall, both extremely livid. “Are you two alright? Someone fucking locked us in Stephanie’s office!” Hunter raged.

“Astrid, are you okay?” Jaela asked, moving next to her friend. She breathed a sigh of relief when Astrid nodded, then winced slightly when the movement jarred her throbbing head.

“Yeah. I’m gonna end up with the headache from hell, but other than that I’m fine. What the hell happened out there. Where the fuck did Brock Lesner come from?” she demanded, moving next to Randy, grateful when he refused medical attention, seeing aside from a monstrous headache of his own, he was fine.

“I don’t know but next week, Lesner is mine!” Randy hissed, then turned his attention to Astrid. He brushed the hair out of her face, studying the red mark where the chair had connected. “Are you sure you’re okay?”

She smiled and nodded. “Yes, I’m fine. But I think you should get checked out. That was a hell of a shot you took.”

“Nah, just a bump. I’m more worried about you.”

Chase and Calliope looked at each other, both biting back the grins easily seeing what was going on, not only between Randy and Astrid, but Jaela and Kevin as well.

“Well, uh, since everyone is okay, which we are very glad, I think Chase and I will go back to our husbands. Their match is in a few minutes. We’ll catch up with you guys later.” Calliope said.

Hunter and Ric weren’t blind as to what was happening either. And although they had a lot of planning to do, and some asses to kick, they knew it could wait just a little while.

“Yeah, um, Ric and I are gonna get going too. Randy, Astrid we’re meeting tomorrow to discuss what happened here tonight.” Hunter said before tuning and leaving, Ric on his heels.

“Gee, that was subtle.” Astrid giggled causing Jaela to laugh as well. Astrid was startled when Jaela suddenly hugged her tight.

“I’m so glad you’re okay.” She said sincerely. “Oh, and you so kicked her ass…until Brock came out.”

“At least the ref saw what happened and disqualified her ass.” Kevin spoke up for the first time, his arm automatically going around Jaela’s waist when she stepped away from Astrid and next to him.

Astrid’s smile grew when she saw the move. “Well, I think I’m gonna head back to the hotel. Head is starting to hurt and I want to lie down.” She said, turning to Randy. “Are you ready?”

Randy caught the silent message she was sending him and didn’t hesitate. “Absolutely.” He looked over at Jaela. “See you two later.”

“Do you have a ride back to the hotel?” Jaela asked, knowing that Kevin had to stay to the end of Smackdown, just as she did as well. He grinned sexily as he moved forward, bending down, stopping when his lips were mere inches from hers.

“I do now.” He said huskily, then closed the distance.

Chapter Twenty Seven

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Thanks for bringing me here." Jaela said to Kevin as they lay in the hammock in the back yard at his acreage after having dinner and cleaning up the dishes. They had just finished taping Smackdown the night before and until the ppv on Sunday, everyone had off. The heat between Astrid and Sable had increased and at the ppv, they would be facing each other. Chris and Adam would also be defending their newly won tag team belts against Undertaker and Kane.
"It's lovely here; so quiet and peaceful. I've never really been outside of the city like this. I grew up there and when we vacationed, it was always to another city. I went to college there and I began working with the company immediately following graduation; again traveling from city to city. Whenever we had time off, I always went back home to the city." Jaela paused as she looked around and sighed contently. "Now that I see what I've been missing, I'm not so sure I want to leave." She told Kevin, snuggling deeper into his arms when he pulled her closer.
"I'm glad you could come." Kevin replied, the sincerity shining brightly in his eyes. "I love it here and I'm so glad that I could share it with you."
Jaela tipped her head back, looked into his eyes and smiled. "There is no place I would rather be."
They fell into a comfortable silence, both content to be in each other's arms as they watched the sun setting.
"Wow." Jaela breathed in awe, having never seen an actual full sunset. "Look at all of those colors. That is so beautiful."
Kevin's breath caught as he gazed at her, seeing the way her eyes were glittering and the happiness on her face. Cupping her cheek in his hand, he gently turned her face to him. "You are beautiful."
Jaela's mouth fell open in surprise at his words. She blushed and looked away for a moment before turning back. She opened her mouth to speak, but she was silenced when his lips claimed hers in a tender kiss.
Pulling her more fully to him, Kevin groaned softly against her mouth as her body melted into his and the intensity of their kiss quickly deepened. Wrapping his arms tightly around her, he moved her until she was on her back and his body covered hers.
His lips leaving hers, Kevin moved down further, his mouth traveling across her jaw and down along the curve of her throat. Jaela moaned softly, feeling his nip with his teeth and then suck gently on the tender skin, leaving a small mark of his possession. She tipped her head back further, allowing his access to the sensitive spot at the base of her neck. In seconds he had her writing, trying to escape and trying to get even closer at the same time.
Unable to stand anymore, Jaela ran her fingers through his hair and gently urged his mouth back up to hers. She felt his tongue lightly trace her lips; seeking entrance. She immediately opened him up and welcomed him in.
They broke the kiss only when air became an absolute necessity. Kevin lifted his head and leaned forward until his forehead rested against hers, both of them breathing heavily. His body moving with a will of it's own, he thrust against her, causing Jaela to gasp softly at feeling the fullness of his arousal. Her own hips lifted in reply causing him to once again move against her.
"I want you." Kevin told her, his voice deep and rough with need.
Jaela tipped her head back until her lips brushed his. She slid her hands underneath his T-shirt and ran them up his chest, her own need for him heightening when she felt his muscles jump and his heart pounding underneath the palms of her hands.
"You can have me." She whispered in reply before fully catching his lips in a kiss that sent both of them spinning.
Sliding her hands back down his chest, Jaela grasped the ends of his Shirt and lifted it up and off over his head, dropping it to the ground below them.
Jaela barely realized that she'd been moved until she found herself astride his lap. She met his lips as his fingers began working the buttons that lined the front of her blouse. After getting them all unfastened, he slid it off her shoulders and it joined his on the ground. His eyes raked hungrily over her as she reached behind herself and unhooked the clasps on her bra. An instant later it joined the growing pile of their clothes on the ground. They both groaned feverishly when Kevin pulled her hard against him and their burning skin came into full contact.
Jaela's head fell back, her back arching to give him better access when she felt his hands cup her breasts. His fingers brushed her sensitive nipples before her tore his lips from hers and dipped his head, capturing them within his mouth. Jaela whimpered breathlessly at the sensations that he was stirring within her.
Pushing Kevin down on his back, Jaela started at his stomach, feeling and hearing the rough groan that rumbled through him as she worked her way up and then back down, doing much the same as she'd done to her.
Her hands going to the waist of his jeans, she undid the button and then the zipper before reaching inside and taking him into her hand. Kevin groaned again as his hands gripped her arms and he pulled her up to him until her lips were just inches from his.
Jaela's breath caught sharply in her throat as she gazed down at him. His eyes were so dark with need that it sent a shiver of anticipation rippling through her.
"Jae," Kevin said, his voice gruff, his breathing heavy. "Need you."
"I'm right here." She told him, moving against him again as she closed the distance between them, capturing his lips in a mind shattering kiss.
In an instant Jaela found herself on her back again, both she and Kevin working urgently to get their remaining clothes out of the way. When they finally did, Kevin again covered her body with his own, burying himself completely. His movements were painfully slow in the beginning but steadily increased as she met his rhythm, urging him on with her passionate whimpering.
Desperately searching for something to grab onto, Jaela thrust her fingers into his hair, her head thrashing back and forth as he drove himself impossibly deeper, reaching places and causing sensations that she had only dreamed of ever experiencing.
Both racing uncontrollably towards that eagerly anticipated peak, Jaela ran her hands down Kevin's muscled back, pulling him as close to her as possible. She could feel the groan rumbling through his massive chest. Rapidly becoming close to surfacing the sound intensified with each move their bodies made together. Dropping his head to her shoulder, Kevin brushed his lips down the line of her throat as the groan that had been reverberating through his chest began to make its way up into his throat.
In seconds, his head jerked up, his body trembling from the force of his release. His mouth crashed down on hers as he flew over the edge, taking her right along with him.
Chapter Twenty Eight
~~~~~~~~~~~

“Ahhh, I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again…it’s so damn good to be home.” Adam exclaimed as he sat back in his favorite chair, smiling lazily at his wife. Chase looked up from the stack of mail she was sorting through and grinned.

“I have to agree with you…again.” She teased, turning to grab her cell phone when it rang. She smiled when she saw the number. She had just seen Calliope the day before, but damn if she didn’t miss her best friend already.

“Hey girl,” she said when she brought the phone to her ear. “What’s up?”

“Just wanted to let you know that our flight has been changed, and we’re coming in a few hours earlier.” Calliope told her. She, Chris and CJ were flying from Canada to Florida to stay with Adam and Chase for the rest of their ‘break’, that way Chris and Adam would have time to put a game plan together, and also work out for their big match in a few days.

“Oh okay no problem. Hey, have you talked to Astrid or Jaela since Smackdown?” Chase asked suddenly. She’d been trying to get a hold of both of them to no avail.

“Nope. I remember Astrid saying something about going to spend a few days with her family, and I know Jaela is with Kevin.” Calliope informed her. Chase sat up straighter her eyes wide.

“With Kevin? Where the hell was I, why didn’t I know about that?” she demanded, happy as hell for her friend, but feeling as if she missed something huge.

“You, my friend, were too busy concentrating on the fact that you got some alone time with your husband. Speaking of which, how is Adam? Have you worn him out yet?” Calliope laughed.

“No! Not yet.” Chase grinned, glancing over at her husband. “He’s sitting right here in his ‘easy’ chair, reading the paper. Wanna talk to him?”

“Nah, that’s alright, I’ll talk to him when we get there tomorrow morning. Okay, I’m gonna get off here, get little man to sleep, then go finish packing. Oh, Chris told me to tell Adam to be ready to have his butt kicked.” She laughed. Chase snorted and rolled her eyes.

“They are tag teaming together!”

“That’s what I said, but Chris insists that he is going to be the better half of the tag team champions.” Calliope snickered.

“Uh huh, of course he is.” Chase muttered good naturally. “I’ll let him know. We’ll be at the airport to pick you up tomorrow, what time?”

“Plane is due to arrive at ten.” Calliope informed her. After saying their good-byes they both hung up and Chase skipped excitedly over to her husband and flopped down on his lap.

“Chris said he’s gonna kick your ass.” She grinned, leaning forward to kiss his cheek. Adam pulled back and gave her a confused look, then rolled his eyes.

“I’m scared shitless.” He said dryly. “So, what’s this about Kevin and Jaela?” he asked, after dropping his own kiss on her lips. Chase sat up straighter, suddenly her eyes shining.

“Apparently, Jaela went home with Kevin. They are spending some ‘quality’ time together.” She giggled. “It’s so exciting! Now if I could only find out from Astrid what’s going on with her and Randy. Whew the looks those two have been giving each other lately could melt the arctic!”

“Hmm, speaking of ‘quality time’,” Adam said softly, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. “I say we use the time we have left by ourselves to good use.”

Chase tipped her head. “I like the way you think!”

***

Astrid whistled softly to herself as she strolled down the hallway that led to the vending machine. She had just caught back up with the Smackdown crew, her and the rest of Evolution needing to be back earlier than the rest, since they had some promotional things scheduled.

She had yet to find the other members of Evolution, but figured they hadn’t gotten in yet. She smiled softly when her thoughts turned to Randy. They hadn’t had a chance to really talk, since their vacation came up and she had already had plans to go visit her family.

But she was anxious to see him. She was anxious to see where things were headed for the two of them on a personal level. She had a feeling it was going to be something amazing, and unlike anything she had ever experienced before. Her whole body still warmed as she thought of the kiss they had shared.

While she was away, she surprised herself to find that she didn’t only miss Randy but also the other two members of Evolution. They were quickly becoming her ‘family’, along with Chase, Calliope, Chris, Adam, Jaela and Kevin. It was truly an amazing thing, since she had always been the type to be more standoffish, not making many friendships and never allowing people to get too close. But one day in the WWE had changed all that.

Her smile turned wicked as she thought of her new best friend and Kevin. She knew exactly what was going on between the two of them, and where they were at the moment.

She giggled softly. “I better be getting full details when she gets back.” She said to herself.

“Well, isn’t this just a surprise.” A sarcastic voice said from behind her. She knew exactly who it was and grit her teeth as she turned around.

“What the fuck do you want?” Astrid spit out, glaring at the blond bimbo in front of her.

“You mean besides your title belt, your spot in Evolution, and your man? Not much.” Sable grinned back, crossing her arms, Astrid rolling her eyes at the way the older woman nearly fell out of her top.

“Keep dreaming, bitch.” Astrid snapped. Sable stepped forward.

“Oh it’s not a dream. You’re new here. You don’t realize that what I want I always get. Careful you don’t stand in my way, would hate for you to get hurt.”

Astrid wasn’t intimidated and stepped closer herself. “You think you scare me? You are nothing to me. As for me getting hurt, it’s a possibility, but I can guarantee that I won’t be the only one. And believe this, I look forward to it!”

Sable shook her head sadly. “You have no idea what you’re in for Astrid.” She sneered. “But at the pay per view, you’re going to find out. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

Astrid huffed. “Yeah, I’ll be sure to hold your warning close to my heart.” She bit out sarcastically.

“So, where is Randy? I’ve been dying to talk to him!” Sable gushed, knowing just the buttons to push. Astrid’s eyes narrowed dangerously but she kept her mouth shut.

“You know, I met him a few months back at a party Vince held. He’s such an amazing kisser isn’t he?” Sable asked, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “That’s not all he’s amazing at.”

Astrid’s eyes widened at her words and before she did something that was likely to get her fired, she turned on her heel and stalked off down the hallway, leaving Sable snickering behind her.

Astrid fought against the sting of tears she felt. It was ridiculous to get upset over what Sable had just said. Odds are she was lying, and even if the bitch wasn’t it wasn’t like she had real say over Randy. Besides, she’d only knows Randy for a little over a month, so she really had no right to be upset.

That’s what she told herself anyway, but it wasn’t working.

Chapter Twenty Nine

~~~~~~~~~~~
Three days later, Kevin and Jaela caught up with the rest of the WWE. When they arrived at the hotel, Jaela immediately spotted Astrid in the lobby and was anxious to talk to her. Although they had only known each other a short time, it was as if they had known and had been best friends all their lives.
"There's Astrid." Jaela pointed her out to Kevin. Kevin smiled at her as they stopped and turned toward each other.
"I wish I had time to stay and talk, but I have to catch up with McMahon to go over things for the show tomorrow night. I'll see you later." He told her as her leaned forward and brushed his lips across her.
Jaela smiled up at him, her cheeks flushed with the desire that instantly raced through her body at even just the slightest touch from him. ”See ya." She whispered, her eyes glowing. She watched as he walked away for a few moments before she turned to catch up with Astrid.
Astrid spun around, a huge smile curving her lips when she heard her friend calling her name. "Jae!" She exclaimed as she rushed forward and hugged her.
"Goodness, someone certainly looks happy." Astrid teased when she saw the light shining brightly in Jaela's eyes. "Couldn't possibly imagine why that might be." She paused, pretending to ponder it for a moment. "I want all the details." She stated as they began walking toward the elevators, watching Jaela blush even deeper.
***
Sable walked around the corner that led to the elevators, but stopped abruptly and stepped back when she saw Astrid and Jaela waiting for the elevator. She peeked around the corner, seeing that the two women had their backs to her and she hadn't been seen. Her eyes narrowing in contempt, she leaned against the wall and listened to their conversation.
"So tell me about Kevin." Astrid said, a knowing smile curving her lips as she looked at her friend.
"He is amazing." Jaela let out a dreamy sigh. "We went to his place. He has a beautiful acreage just outside of his hometown in Pennsylvania. We rode four-wheelers, laid around and watched movies, ran with the dogs, we talked, watched the sunset every night..." Jaela trailed off, another sigh escaping her.
"And?" Astrid prompted when Jaela didn't say anything further. "Is he as sexy out of his clothes as he is on them?" Astrid laughed as she watched Jaela's mouth fall open and her eyes grow wide, her cheeks flaming yet again when what she'd just asked hit her.
"Well, is he?" Astrid persisted. "I know you know." She stated when Jaela shrugged and gave an innocent look.
"Yes." Jaela finally gave in and admitted, her voice coming out so softly that Astrid had to lean over to hear her.
"So?" Astrid waited quite impatiently for further detail.
"He is amazing." Was all Jaela was able to come up with as her eyes took on a far away, dreamy look as vivid details of their time spent together played through her mind. Then before Astrid could question her further, she collected herself and asked a question of her own.
"What about you and Randy?" Jaela questioned, almost laughing out loud when Astrid took a surprised step back and nearly stumbled over herself. "Astrid, you are blushing!" She was unable to help teasing her best friend.
"I didn't see him during our break. I was visiting my family, remember?"
Jaela nodded, but wasn't giving up. "But? Come on, spill it!"
Astrid smiled, knowing that there was no way that she could keep it in. "Well, we..." She trailed off as the elevator arrived and the doors opened. "We'll have to continue this later." She said as she stepped into the elevator to go up to her room, while Jaela had to meet with some of the talent to go over some new costume ideas that she had.
"I'm holding you to that!" Jaela promised, both of them laughing as the elevator doors closed.
Chapter Thirty
~~~~~~~~~~~

"So you ready for the big match tonight?" Calliope asked Chris, proud of her husband's accomplishments in the wrestling business. And she was equally as proud of Adam too.

Their tag team match against Undertaker and Kane at the pay-per-view in just a few hours was the main event of the evening. It was a huge match for Adam and Chris...one that they were slated to win. For them to take the tag team belts from such stellar figures in the wrestling business was a very big deal.

Chris walked across the hotel room to where Calliope stood after just getting CJ down for a much needed nap. "I'm more than ready...more than I've ever been for any match." He told her, giving her that heart-stopping smile of his.

"I'm so proud of you...and Adam too. You two really deserve this." Calliope said as she raised up on her toes and brushed her lips across his. When she moved to pull back, Chris wrapped his arm around her waist and drew her tight against him. As her own arms went around him, he deepened the kiss, sending both of their worlds spiraling.

Chris groaned loudly when the kiss ended, his entire body instantly on fire. Calliope's eyes flew to CJ when he stirred at the noise, but he thankfully didn't wake up. "Shh, you're going to wake the baby." She said softly as she placed her fingers across his lips. Holding her eyes, Chris tenderly kissed each of her fingers before taking hold of her hand and leading her to the adjoining room of their suite.

"So is everyone going out tonight after the show?" Calliope asked Chase as they walked through the back of the arena to the dressing rooms that Adam and Chris were using. Sunday Night Heat was currently in progress and the pay-per-view was about thirty-five minutes from kicking off.

"Oh you know it! There's going to be some big celebrating tonight. Astrid and Randy and Kevin and Jaela are coming too. Is Linda able to watch CJ for a few hours?" Chase asked, really looking forward to the night out and hoped that Calliope and Chris could make it as well.

Calliope nodded, a huge smile lighting her face. "She actually offered to take him overnight, but I'm not quite ready for that much separation just yet. Though I'm sure that Chris wouldn't mind in the least. I know that Chris loves him more than anything, but he tends to interrupt at some of the most inopportune moments." Calliope giggled, remembering the very thing happening just earlier that morning.

"Oh, poor Chris...not gettin' any, huh. Damn, that's rough." Chase teased, laughing when Calliope nearly choked on the soda that she'd just taken a drink of. "I wonder if they make sympathy cards for that tragedy." Chase added, causing her and Chase to laugh until they were nearly in tears.

"Oh man...I'm not sure who he would kill first; you or me." Calliope stated, still laughing as they rounded the corner. They were both stopped abruptly in their tracks when they each ran into what had to be a brick wall. The only problem...there usually weren't brick walls built smack in the middle of the hallway.

"What the hell!" Chase and Calliope exclaimed simultaneously. They got their answer when they finally looked and saw who was blocking their paths.

"Sorry, didn't see you there." Calliope told them and then realized how utterly stupid that statement sounded. Undertaker and Kane were huge. How could she or Chase not have seen them? Yet they hadn't. They'd been too busy laughing, she supposed. "Excuse us." She said as she and Chase moved to step around the two big men. They were stopped once more when Undertaker and Kane moved to block their path again.

"Something you wanted?" Chase asked as she folded her arms across her chest and looked up at Undertaker and Kane, a few sparks of annoyance beginning to show in her eyes.

Undertaker smirked down at Chase and Calliope for a moment before he leaned forward until his face was just inches from theirs. "Just a little warning." He told them, his voice low and gravelly. "Tonight after those gutless husbands of yours take OUR belts, your hell begins." He promised. Kane nodded in agreement as he adjusted the black glove on his hand. Then with that said, Undertaker and Kane pushed Calliope and Chase out of the way and continued on their way down the hallway.

"Our hell begins?" Calliope questioned in bewilderment. "Whatever." She muttered, rolling her eyes.

"Oh, I'm real scared, let me tell ya." Chase commented, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Come on!" She grabbed Calliope's arm. "Let's get going so we can see Adam and Chris before Their match."

A few moments later, Chase and Calliope arrived at Adam and Chris' dressing room, the incident with Undertaker and Kane far from their minds as they anticipated seeing their husbands.

Chapter Thirty One

“Congratulations!” Chase and Calliope greeted their husbands enthusiastically as they walked back through the curtains after a grueling, tiring but rewarding match.

Adam and Chris’s smiles were both weary, but bright none the less as they clung to their newly won Tag Team Championship Belts. “It’s time to celebrate!” Chris announced after leaning down and giving Calliope a quick kiss, holding back from pulling her into his arms, remembering that he was completely sweaty.

“I’m so happy for you, Baby.” Chase said, her eyes shining as she went up on tip toes to kiss her husband. After she pulled back he took her hand in his and looked over at Chris and Calliope.

“I’m ready to celebrate myself, but first, damn I need a shower!” Adam laughed, then turned a mischievous grin onto his wife. “Wanna join me?”

“Oh hell no!” Calliope stated firmly before Chase could answer. “You’d take forever!”

Chris laughed at the blush that colored Chase’s cheeks and the look on Adam’s face. “Come on, stop embarrassing them. We’ll meet ya in your dressing room in twenty minutes. That’s twenty minutes! No hanky panky you two!” Chris wagged his finger at them playfully.

Chase glared at him. “Yes, Daddy!”

“Come here.” Adam said huskily the second the locker room door closed behind them. He pulled Chase in his arms, completely forgetting about the fact that he was completely sweaty. Not that she was complaining at the moment.

Chase leaned her body into his as he rested against the door, fumbling blindly for the lock. Once it clicked into place, he turned his full attention to his wife.

He gazed down into her eyes; his heart swelling like it did every time he fully realized just how much she meant to him. “I love you.” He whispered gruffly.

Chase’s eyes softened with emotion. “I love you too, Adam.” She whispered back before his lips came down on hers as he moved her deeper into the room. Before she knew it they were both lying on the couch. He pulled back when she giggled.

“What?” he asked.

“We only have ‘twenty minutes’.” She quoted Chris. Adam rolled his eyes.

“Chris can wait patiently…and if he dares to interrupt, I’m gonna take his tag team belt and shove it directly up his ass!” he promised.

Her laughter was cut off when his lips descended upon hers once again, and all thoughts of Chris, the tag team belts, Calliope, and everything else flew from both their minds as they had their own private little ‘celebration’.

Chapter Thirty Two

~~~~~~~~~~~
“Chase!”
Chase turned, pausing just outside her hotel room door and smiled when she saw Calliope, Jaela and Astrid coming down the hall towards her. Calliope reached her first.
“Where ya been, I’ve been trying to get a hold of you all day!” Calliope exclaimed.
“Sorry, I meant to call you, but left my cell phone here, I had to run to the airport.” Chase grinned, looking directly at Calliope, knowing the person she had picked up would have more of an impact on Callie than the other girls.
“The airport?” Jaela questioned. “What for?”
“I had to pick up my sister.” The words where barely out her mouth when Calliope squealed with excitement and immediately began knocking on the door.
“Chandler!” Calliope was nearly jumping up and down with excitement, anxious to see the woman she hadn’t talked too in a few months. “Open this damn door now.”
Chase, Jaela and Astrid stood back laughing. The instant the door opened, Calliope threw her arms around the younger woman standing there. Astrid and Jaela’s eyes went wide at the resemblance between the two sisters.
“Wow, are they twins?” Astrid whispered to Jaela, who shook her head.
“I really don’t think so. I’ve never meet Chandler personally, but I’ve heard a lot about her. She’s younger than Chase, but damn they do look nearly identical don’t they?” Jaela answered.
Calliope pulled back from the tight hug. “How have you been? Damn you look great! What have you been up too? Any men in your life? Why the hell has it taken you so long to visit?” she fired off all the questions at once.
Chandler caught her sister’s eye and struggled not to laugh, the two having already discussed how Calliope’s reaction would be. They were dead on!
“Well, I’ve been wonderful, thank you, you look wonderful yourself. Marriage and motherhood definitely agree with you, speaking of which I am extremely anxious to get my hands on that little boy, and no I’m not talking about Chris.” They all laughed before she continued.
“Nothing much has changed with me, same old same old. No new men in my life, no old one’s either. And I’m sorry I haven’t visited sooner, but I’ve been swamped with work.” She explained. She took a deep breath then turned to look at the two women she didn’t know. She took a step forward and held out her hand.
“Hi, I’m Chandler Larmore, Chase’s sister of course.” She smiled as Jaela came forward, instantly knowing who she was just from hearing Callie and Chase talk about her.
“Nice too finally meet you Chandler, I feel like I already know you I’ve heard so much. I’m Jaela and this is Astrid.” She gestured to the taller woman standing a little behind her.
After all the introductions were made, they all moved into the room where they were able to get caught up and better acquainted.
Chapter Thirty Three
~~~~~~~~~~~

“Ugh, you two make me sick!” Chandler complained jokingly as she walked in on her sister and brother in law kissing for what seemed to be the millionth time.

Chase grinned at her sister as she pulled slightly away from Adam. “You’re just jealous.” She teased.

“Nah, not really.” Chandler threw back, grinning at them both. “Not that you’re not a great looking man Adam, but you’re just not my type.”

Chase smiled up at her husband. “Yeah, she goes for the shorter, skinnier, race car driver types.”

“Huh?” Adam asked confused. Chase laughed out loud at Chandler’s astounded expression.

“My little sister has a major thing for Dale Earnhardt Jr.” she informed him. He grinned and nodded.

“Oh yeah, I remember you telling me how obsessed she was with NASCAR.” He joked, laughing when Chandler struggled to find her voice.

“I am not!” she exclaimed. “I’m just a big fan of the sport, and it has nothing to do with Dale Earnhardt Jr.!” She cringed as she could feel the heat rising in her face.

“Yeah sure.” Chase giggled.

Adam took pity on Chandler and stopped teasing. “Have you ever met any of the drivers?” he asked seriously.

Chandler shook her head. “Nope, been to quite a number of races, but I don’t go to the pits. I like watching and admiring from afar.”

Chase laughed harder. “Yeah, she’s more into the stalker tendencies.”

“I AM NOT!”

Before anyone could say anything farther, the door burst open with Astrid, Jaela and Calliope coming in, all laughing so hard neither could catch their breath and tears streaming down their faces.

“Um, okay, why do I get the feeling I missed something very juicy?” Chase remarked as she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back against her husband, smiling up at him when he slipped his arms around her waist.

Calliope was the first to be able to speak. “Oh my god! You’re not going to believe it!” she burst out into fresh peals of laughter.

Jaela wiped the tears away as she tried to talk. “It’s the funniest damn thing I’ve ever heard!”

“Sable…not…here…” Astrid gasped out, still laughing.

Chandler looked as confused as her sister as she looked over at Chase. “Um, I get the being happy about Sable not being here, but why is it so funny?” she asked. She’d only been there for three days, but she’d already had the misfortune of running into Sable, and the two had taken an instant disliking towards each other.

Jaela waved her hand. “No, it’s why she’s not here that’s so damn funny!”

“So tell us already!” Adam spoke up for the first time, having a feeling this was gonna be good, and was just as anxious to hear as his wife and Chandler.

Calliope, Jaela and Astrid all calmed down, until they looked at each other then started laughing again.

Astrid regained some composure first. “Sable won’t be able to attend tonight due to the fact that one of her implants is leaking!”

Chase, Chandler and Adam’s mouths dropped open, then when it sunk in that the three women were serious, they too burst out into hysterical uncontrollable laughter.
