Chapter Forty Seven
~~~~~~~~~~~
Chandler was a bundle of nerves as she waited until it was time to go to the party. She paced her hotel room, stopping every other minute in front of the mirror to check her hair and make-up. Like the time she checked before every thing looked perfect. She usually wasn't a vain person and she wasn't sure why she kept checking her appearance like she was. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she could possibly be meeting Dale Earnhardt. Jr. later that night.
She nearly jumped through the ceiling and was unable to suppress the small shriek that escaped her when there was a knock on her door. She glanced down at her watch as she walked to the door, knowing that it was Jaela when she saw the time. Chandler winced inwardly when she opened the door and took in her friend's appearance. She knew that Jaela was worried about Astrid. Hell, they all were, but Jaela seemed to be taking it especially hard.
"Come on in." Chandler said as she stepped aside so Jaela could enter the room. "I just have to grab a few things and then we can get going."
Jaela nodded slightly and then put her head down as she fought to keep back the tears that were burning her eyes. She really did not want to go to this party. The only reason that she was going was because she knew that Kevin would be there.
Chandler frowned as she watched her friend. She felt bad for Jaela, knowing that it was about killing her to be there when what she really wanted was to be out looking for Astrid. She wished she knew what to say to make Jaela feel better, but even if she did, words were meaningless. The only way to make things better was to have Astrid safe and back with them.
After picking up her room key and purse, she gently placed her hand on Jaela's arm to gain her attention. "Are you ready?" Chandler asked. Despite everything that was going on, she could not deny her excitement to get to the party. Just the fact that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was there was enough to make her feel shaky. The fact that he apparently wanted to meet her...there were so many thoughts and emotions running through her, it seemed a little overwhelming.
"Yes, I am." Jaela answered, breaking Chandler out of her thoughts.
"Have you talked to Calliope or Chase lately?" Chandler asked to break the silence and to get Jaela's mind off Astrid as the walked to the elevators.
Jaela shook her head. "No, not since we were all together earlier." She replied and then stopped in her tracks, her face crumbling. Chandler moved to comfort her, but before she could, Jaela took in a deep breath and slowly let it out to help gain control of her emotions again. "Let's get going." Jaela stated, needing to see Kevin.
As they arrived at the VIP lounge, which was located on the top floor of the hotel, Chandler felt her heart began to pound and her stomach was doing flips. Her hands were shaky and she wasn't entirely sure if she was still breathing or not. If what Chase said was true and Dale really wanted to meet her...Chase better not have been bullshitting her or there would be hell to pay!
Suddenly snapping out of her thoughts when the noise of the party hit her, Chandler realized that Jaela had already gone inside and she hurried to catch up with her friend. She stopped when she soon found herself lost in the sea of people. She looked around, not seeing Jaela anywhere. And for that matter, she didn't see Chase, Adam, Calliope, or Chris anywhere either. Nor did she see Dale anywhere either.
"Shit." Chandler muttered as she started making her way toward the bar. She needed a drink! Everything that had gone on with Astrid, seeing what everyone was going through in her absence, knowing now that Undertaker and Kane had been threatening Chase and Calliope, and now knowing that Dale Earnhardt Jr. wanted to meet her...hell, her nerves were shot!
Sitting down at the bar, she signaled the bartender and ordered a White Russian. After paying for it, she turned around on the barstool and looked around. She was very impressed. The lounge was huge; consisting of three floors. On the lower level where she was, there were bars at each end of the room with the dance floor in the middle. She couldn't see much of the upper tiers from where she was, but she assumed that that was the 'lounge' part of the place. Maybe everyone had gone up there where it was quieter? Or maybe from there she could look down on the floor and see them.
Taking her drink with her, Chandler began toward the stairs that would take her to the upper level. After looking extensively on both of them, she sighed when she didn't see any of them up there.
Deciding to go back downstairs, Chandler took the second set of stairs that came out on the opposite end from where she'd been before. By that time she'd finished her drink so she sent back to the bar to get another one. She'd just sat down, got her drink, and had it up to her mouth, ready to take a sip when she heard a voice behind her that was thick with southern drawl.
"Is this spot taken?"
Chandler instantly froze, dropping her drink in the process and splashing it all over herself. She closed her eyes, wishing the floor would open up and swallow her.
She knew who the voice behind her belonged to...she easily recognized it from the times she heard him speak on TV. Good God, it was Dale Earnhardt Jr.! And she's just spilled her drink all over herself!
Chapter Forty Eight
~~~~~~~~~~~
Jaela didn’t even realize that Chandler was no longer behind her. She quickly scanned the people around her, searching desperately for Kevin. This party was the absolute last place she wanted to be. But she needed to be near Kevin, and since it was mandatory for him to attend, she was there as well. She took a deep, shaky breath then started forward through the people, looking for the one person who could calm her, even if just a little.
She felt eyes on her and turned her head, her steps faltering when her eyes connected with those of Randy Orton. Her eyes narrowed dangerously, and her hands clenched into tight fists at her side, and she could feel herself starting to shake when he smirked at her, winked and raised his glass in a salute before turning and wrapping his arm around Sable, who was standing at his side.
It took everything Jaela had inside her to not just march right up to him, slap that stupid grin off his face, and to just destroy that bleach blond bitch! In fact, she was just taking a step towards them when she felt a hand on her arm and was turned around. She looked up and could feel some of the tension fading when she met Kevin’s concerned blue eyes. He looked up and over her shoulder, meeting Randy’s eyes, sending the younger man a silent, but deadly warning with his eyes, before turning back to the woman he had fallen completely in love with.
"Come with me." He said, his voice a little gruff as his hand slid down her arm, sending shivers through her body, before taking her hand and leading her towards a more secluded area in the room.
"You doing okay, baby?" Kevin asked once they'd gotten to a more quiet area. After the words were out, he felt like kicking himself for asking. It was very plain to see the distress that she was feeling
"I'm not doing so-" Jaela began, but her words were stopped when Kevin leaned forward and captured her lips in a soft kiss. Her arms instantly went around him as she moved closer, taking in all of the strength, comfort, and warmth that he provided.
After a few moments Kevin pulled back enough to look into her eyes. He was relieved to see that she seemed a little less stressed. But in the next instant her demeanor changed and she moved completely away from him, her body rigid once more.
"That fucking Randy Orton has a lot of balls showing his face here!" Jaela spat, her blood boiling as she remembered the smirk on his face. "And that bitch Sable standing there looking all smug. I'd like to knock both of them on there asses!"
Stepping forward, Kevin pulled her into his arms again, his hands moving over her back in a soothing motion. "Triple H, Flair, and Batista are here too. Believe me, I've had a hell of a time keeping my temper in check." He told her, easily feeling the shaky sigh that escaped her.
"Why?" Jaela questioned, her voice trembling. "Why did they have to do it like this? If they wanted to part ways with Astrid, they could have just told her so. She would have been able to take it. What they did was inexcusable, Kevin."
"I know, baby." Kevin agreed as he reached up to brush a tear from her cheek. "I'm sure there will be repercussions for what they did."
"It doesn't look like McMahon is going to do a damn thing about it! If he was, they why are they here tonight at this party? Shouldn't their asses be out of here if he was going to do something?" Kevin opened his mouth to reply to her questions, but Jaela spoke again before she could.
"And if what Evolution did wasn't bad enough, now Undertaker and Kane have her and have taken her to only God knows where." Jaela was nearly beside herself with worry fore her friend. Knowing what they'd been doing to Chase and Calliope, she didn't trust Undertaker and Kane...not at all.
Kevin stared down into her eyes, his concern and love for her clearly evident. "She will be found. And if she is harmed in anyway, there will be hell to pay." He paused for a moment and thought over his words. "I should say, if she, or anyone else is harmed, there will be hell to pay." He promised, also knowing of the threats that Kane and Undertaker had been making towards Calliope and Chase. And he didn't trust Evolution, especially where Jaela was concerned being that she was Astrid's best friend.
Jaela sighed heavily as she laid her head against Kevin's chest. She tried to keep the tears back, but it was useless. A huge sob wracked her body as they started to fall. She felt his arms tighten around her, but instead of it making her feel better, it only made her tears fall harder. After a few moments, her tears subsided a bit, but she was still trembling and filled with anguish.
Slipping a hand between them, Kevin hooked a finger around her chin and gently lifted her head until their eyes met. Slowly lowering his head to hers, he captured her lips in a tender kiss. After a moment, he broke the kiss and moved to pull back, but Jaela held tight to him. He claimed her lips again, deepening the kiss when she whimpered and pressed herself closer to him.
His lips left hers when they needed to breathe. Running his fingers through her hair, he cupped the base of her head as his mouth traveled along the curve of her neck. Finding her lips again, Kevin backed her up until she was against the wall. A groan rumbled through him when she slid her hands underneath his shirt, her fingers caressing the desire tightened muscles in his chest.
Jaela pulled back from the heated kiss and looked up into his eyes, which were so dark wtih desire that it took her breath away, She sighed, not wanting the moment to end, but not wanting him to get in trouble for being with her and not doing his job.
"Kevin," She began, but was stopped. Knowing what she was going to say, he placed a finger against her lips to hush her.
"I got Mike to cover for me for a little while so I could be with you. So right now, I am all yours. Anything you need, it's yours." He said.
Jaela remained silent as she continued to stare into his eyes. God, she loved this man. Everything she'd ever dreamed of what right before her and he was all hers. The overwhelming feeling of love brought fresh tears to her eyes.
"I love you." Jaela whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
Smiling softly down at her, Kevin tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "And I love you." He told her, his voice gruff with all that he was feeling. He was so completely in love with her.
"All I want and need right now is you." Jaela whispered before she stood up on her toes and pressed her lips to his in a soul shattering kiss.
Although they were in a more secluded and dark area of the lounge, anyone could have seen them at anytime if they looked. And they knew that they should be out in the party with their friends, but at the moment neither Kevin or Jaela cared. All that mattered to them at the moment was each other.
"We should go somewhere a little more private, don't you think?" Kevin asked after the kiss was broken. When Jaela nodded in agreement, he took hold of her hand and led her to the back where he knew there were storage room from when he and the other security crew had toured the place earlier before the party had started.
They barely made it inside one of the rooms before they were all over each other. In moments, each had the other stripped of their clothing. Wrapping his arm around her waist, Kevin pulled her tight against him, holding her still with one hand, while the other moved up her body to take hold of her arms and hold them captive over her head.
Breaking the kiss, Kevin’s brushed his lips down the line of her neck. He moved down, his desire further heightened, hearing the passionate moan that came from her when he captured one hard peak of her breast and then the other in his mouth.
Continuing on his fiery trail, Kevin let go of her arms as he dropped down to his knees. With one arm still around her waist, he pulled her closer, while he picked up one of her legs with the other and draped it over his broad shoulder.
Jaela was barely able to keep herself from crying out, but she was unable to stop the whimper that escaped her when she felt his mouth and tongue on her. She searched desperately for something to grab onto when she found herself immediately spinning out of control as she teetered dangerously on the edge. At the last second she found a handful of his hair and grabbed on tight to it as her orgasm hit hard, it shaking her to the very core of her being.
Kevin didn’t even give her a chance to catch her breath before he lifted her up in his strong arms and held her up against the wall. He immediately made their bodies one, but held still, nor did her allow her any movement as he tried to hold on as long as he could. A loud growl escaped him as he felt her inner muscles tightening around him and he knew that there was no holding back.
Jaela gasped, her fingernails digging deep into his shoulders as he slammed forward, burying himself deep inside her. It was only a matter of moments before they had both reached the point of no return. Kevin’s mouth crashed down on hers to swallow her cries of pleasure as she did his as they reached an earth shattering climax together.
"You always did know how to make me feel better." Jaela told him once she'd gotten her breath back a little bit. She was smiling genuinely for the first time that night. "Have I told you get how much I love you?" She asked, knowing she had, but feeling she could never express it enough.
Kevin returned her smile. "Yes, you have, but I could stand to hear it again." He teased, glad that at the moment she was totally relaxed. He had a feeling that it wouldn't last for long..
Jaela's expression turned serious. "I really don't know what I'd do without you, Kevin. I love you...so much."
Kevin leaned forward and gently kissed her lips before moving back again. "I love you, Jae. More than anything."
