KCRFC A 10 Palmer College 19
Buckskin Basin, Las Vegas, NV
On a beautiful desert night KCRFC played the top-seeded Palmer College under the lights in the CUP playoffs of MLR. City came out and looked very determined to play the number 1 seed by scoring in the first 5 minutes with a penalty kick by flyhalf Tim Davies. Palmer answered by scoring two tries in the half and taking a 3-14 lead at halftime. City blew many opportunities to score by knocking the ball on close to the try line. Winger Chip Becker set the tone of the game with a bone crushing hit that left the Palmer winger dazed and confused.
The second half was all City and a try by speedy winger Neil Snow brought the match to 10-14 with 30 minutes to go, flyhalf Tim Davies conveted the tough angle conversion. It was a defensive stand and City could not capitalize on many opportunities again at there try line. With about 3 minutes to play Palmer scored the final try to win the game 10-19. A very tough hard fought game with an unlucky outcome.
