MAJOR LEAGUE VICTORY

KCRFC knocked down its frist MLR win of the 2001 tri-series against the Dallas RFC. On warm but wet day City came out of the shoot in the first 5 minutes when Winger Chip Becker took a hands ball into the Northeast corner of try zone. A tough angle turned into a missed convertion. Dallas was scrappy and capitalized on some City miscommunication and grubbed the ball into the try zone, fell on it and made the conversion. Minutes later the pack turned it up and kept ball retention and flanker Charlie Hirner broke through for a try and Buckley made good on the conversion. The City pack kept the ball then spun it out wide as some nice passing and cut backs allowed Windger Chip Becker to score his second try just before half in the Northwest corner of the try zone. Conversion failed. City 17-7.

The second half was desimated by injuries to City as everyone was giving there bodies up for defense. The pack picked up where it left off allowing scrumhalf Andy Dujakovich to go over for a score with just a few minutes gone in the second half, Dunning converted for an injured Tony Buckley. With about ten minutes remaining Dallas popped over for another try and made conversion but City kept going with Dujakovich scoring his second of the game with a missed conversion. Final Score KCRFC 29-14.
