Three North Carolina Qualifiers for 1997 Foot Locker Nationals
November 29, 1997 - Foot Locker South Regional, McAlpine Greenway, Charlotte
Josh Baker (left) of Freedom HS in Morganton, Bradsher Wilkins (center) of Orange HS in Hillsborough, and Joe Lion (right) of Watauga HS in Boone all finished in the top 8 to qualify for the Foot Locker Nationals in Orlando, Florida.
Wilkins placed first in 15:19.3 with Baker second at 15:20.0. Lion was seventh in 15:27.0. Wilkins and Baker are juniors and Lion is a senior. Wilkins ran a 4:18.59 1600 in his sophomore track season.
