Descendants of John Rawlings
Generation No. 1
1. JOHN1 RAWLINGS was born Bef. 1715, and died Bet. March 26 - November, 1747 in Northampton Co., NC. He married ELIZABETH WYCHE Abt. 1729, daughter of WILLIAM WYCHE and JUDITH.
Notes for JOHN RAWLINGS:
I am guessing that this John's dau Lucy was the Lucy that md Frederick McLin in 1760 in Southampton.
According to __Jordan Journal__, by Robert (Bob) Jordan, John Rawlings' will was dated March 26, 1747 and probated at the November court in 1747 [in Northampton Co.], naming daughters as Lucy and Susanna Rawlings and his wife as Hannah Rawlings. Wit: Arthur Harris, William Rawlings, George Jordan Sr., and George Jordan, Jr. Bob states that Lucy Rawlings was the only surviving child of John Rawlings and Elizabeth Wyche. [ I need to find this, the wife doesn't make sense. Should be Elizabeth.]

Children of JOHN RAWLINGS and ELIZABETH WYCHE are:

USANNA RAWLINGS:According to __Jordan Journal__, by Robert (Bob) Jordan, John Rawlings' will was dated March 26, 1747 and probated at the November court in 1747 [in Northampton Co.], naming daughters as Lucy and Susanna Rawlings and his wife as Hannah Rawlings. UCY RAWLINGS, b. Bet. 1730 - 1740; d. 1817, VA; m. FREDERICK MCLIN, June 12, 1760, Southampton Co, VA.
Notes for L
UCY RAWLINGS:There are several "Lucy" marriages:
1756: Brunswick Co - Lucy Rawlings and John (Jr.) Hagood 12 May 1756 dau of William Rollins, bond William Harrison.
1760: Southampton Co - Lucy Rawlings and Frederick McLin (Maclin) 12 June 1760, Sur. Peter Butts.
The latter seems the only possibility. The first is likely Lucy the dau of Wm and Naomi in Brunswick Co abt 1740.
According to Barbara A Kienzle, Rte. 1 Box 1805, Colusa, CA 95932 in a Sep 1988 Query in RFHA, the Lucy Rawlings who md Frederick Maclin was born 1720, place unknown, died 1817 in Virginia. Frederick Maclin is found in Brunswick Co in 1761 and seems to be there as late as 1789. That would make her 40 when she married - doubtful to me - but she did have 620 acres of Northampton land from the will of Cyrill Wyche her Uncle.
And what about this Query in RFHA Sep 1993 p. 40.
"I am searching for a woman by the name of Lucy Rollins. About all I know of her is that she was probably born around 1724 in Brunswick Co, VA. She md Frederick Maclin about 1744, also in Brunswick Co. Children included: James, Frederick, Nathanial, Patsy, Mary Elizabeth, Lucy, Martha and Amy. I am descende thrugh the younger Lucy. Caroline McGowan, 302 Suncrest Blvd., Savannah, GA 31410."
